That parenting forum is way behind. Even pediatricians are recommending introducing peanut butter at an early age so they WON'T develop sensitivities. Be ready to rush said kid to ER if anaphylaxis ensues, of course.
I gotta tell you, when my kiddo was born, I didn't worry about ANYTHING. He survived just fine. Helicopter parents are not good for kids. If the kid has an allergy, deal with it, but the kid is more likely to have one if you studiously make them avoid the food for years.
