LSU Tigers- 2014 Season Trailer Video

This time of year everyone is stoked about their team and ready to see what they can do.

LSU is going to be a powerhouse yet again. I think both LSU and Bama will beat auburn this year.

The game between the Tide and the Tigers will be an epic one again.

LSU is losing steam and will not rival it's league as it has done in the past..

I disagree. Have you seen Leonard Fournette? He is going to rack up some points.

Their defense will be tougher, and Miles (while crazy) will pull some wild bits out to surprise some folks.

That's interesting. Do all college teams advertise football like it's a regular scripted TV Show?

What? Scripted? lmao

Most colleges and their fans enjoy the hype vids this time of year. Getting the fans worked up is a good thing for the team & school.

The Crimson Tide hype videos make the anticipation even greater.

It's advertised as a life and death struggle, Good vs. Evil, fight your Inner Demons and overcome them. All in Super Slo-Mo of course!

It's just a game. The NFL Minor Leagues at best.

It is a HYPE video. You might want to look up the definition of the word.

Yes, it is a game. And fans can get a little crazy about it. But that is the nature of most sporting events.

And no, college football is not just the NFL minor leagues. Many college fans don't watch pro football. We love the college game.

It is funny that you call it "scripted", and then rant about the hype in a hype video, and then try and demean it by calling it minor league. Do try and figure out what you want to say, and then stick with it.

Personally? I'd rather watch Crimson Tide football than any pro game, including the Super Bowl. The passion and intensity of a college rivalry game beats anything else, in my book.

The NFL and College football are always jiggering the rules to keep it a 3 hour "game". To fit neatly into a TV schedule.

You can deny scripting in any sport all you want but in College it's called "points shaving" which has to be arranged ahead of time for gambling purposes.

So the gambling part is more important than who actually wins.

Horseshit. There are a couple of reasons why your claims of points shaving being common is nonsense.

First of all, the polls are partially based on the opinions of sports writers and coaches. If a team blows out a good team, they will advance more than if they barely beat them. And the polls are what college football lives by. So no team is going to shave points and risk dropping in the polls.

Second, if you can get a good lead you can get your future starters in the game for some valuable experience. Unlike the pros, college players are only there for 4 years (the stars only for 3). So you always have to be getting the next group ready.

Third, there are few sports where the underdogs do as well. Even if it is a loss, if you do it by a tight margin you get something out of it.

Lastly, college football shows more winning by the extra effort of players than almost any sport. There are countless examples of players rising to the occasion and making the difference. An example? George Teague running down Lamar Thomas in the '93 Sugar Bowl. When Thomas caught a pass he was 5 yards ahead of George Teague. Lamar Thomas was one of the fastest men on the field (also a track star). Teague, by all the stats listed, should never have been able to catch him. But he rose to the occasion.

Most of these kids will never play pro ball. They are doing it for an education and for the love of the game.
