Yup.

I was in Junior high school and remember many girls who were walking around carrying Beatles dolls to show which Beatle they had a crush on.

Back then the Beatles were just another rock band to most people.

It was the female teenie booopers that first turned the Beatles from just another British Rock band into THE rock band of my generation.
