Iowa House district flips RED for the first time in decades! Huge congrats to Jon Dunwell on being the second state GOP flip in a special election in 2021. Tonight’s win proves Republicans across the nation continue to be energized. Consider: that district went (62/38) blue in 2012. Then (51/38) in 2016. It shifted back to deeper blue territory in the Democratic wave year of 2018, only to become a three-point squeaker in 2020. In yesterday's special, the Republican won by a 20-point margin. I guess you could say he dun well.

And in Connecticut a couple of months ago, GOP pickup in a contested State Senate race in Connecticut — the sort of district Republicans must win back.

And US House Dem John Yarmuth has announced his retirement; he is the only democrat from KY in the House or Senate.

And inflation news, prices went up in September, more than they did in August.
