Aspen, for one. It can't reproduce without fire. Wherever you see a grove of Aspen trees, it means there was a fire there.

If Trump is sincere in his claims, he will support more funding to the forestry service for forest management. He will support Califormia in raising taxes to protect state forests. He will support strict environmental laws

According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), the blaze started at 6:29 a.m. on Thursday in a spot near that where the fault was reported.

PG&E send a plane to inspect the fault and noticed damage to a transmission tower on the affected line, the company said. It is not yet clear whether the damage was caused by the blaze.

Cal Fire spokesman Scott McLean said Friday that the cause of the fire is still being investigated, but added that the agency is "looking into all possibilities including electrical equipment failure."

The Camp fire is the most destructive in state history, and has destroyed more than six thousand homes and other buildings, killed nine people and spread to more than 90,000 acres.

The company already faces billions in potential liability in connection with previous wildfires in the state.

A national logging organization is offering support to President Trump following catastrophic wildfires in California and a political debate over the causes of the destructive blazes.

“President Trump blamed poor forest management for wildfires in California and throughout the West, and there is truth to statements he has made,” said Daniel Dructor, executive vice president of the American Loggers Council, a coalition of state and regional associations that represents independent contract loggers.

“It’s time to rise above political posturing and recognize that active forest management — including logging, thinning, grazing and controlled burning — are tools that can and must be used to reduce fire risks and help mitigate the impacts to landscapes,” Mr. Dructor said in a statement. ​

According to the council, some 60 million to 80 million acres of national forest are at “high, to very high, risk of catastrophic wildfire.”​

So the people who would be employed by government action agree with it....

During a conference call with reporters on November 19, Department of Homeland Security officials said there are at least “500 criminals” among the migrant caravan that has reached the Mexican side of the San Ysidro border crossing just south of San Diego. The officials said that “most of the caravan members are not women and children,” but are single adult or teen males with the women and children having been pushed to the front of the caravan in order to receive sympathetic media coverage.

Fox News reported that DHS officials said there are about 6,000 people in Tijuana waiting to be processed at the San Ysidro border crossing, with more still arriving.
