Dumb fuck, Vaginal, no one can turn around the closing of the coal mines. The economics of the situation is what is destroying coal. Natural gas is cheaper, solar cheaper yet, and wind cheapest of all. And the grid scale battery storage will be final nail in the coffin of coal.

Bull poo dude. It is only because of onerous fees that have been levied on coal, to support non performing, and under performing renewables, that makes your wind power "competitive". Get a clue.

The Promotation of stupidity is the only way the right can win. Like there isn't a reason to study climate as some of the changes can be extremely destructive to society.

It is just anti-science.

And yet we're not the ones claiming you don't need to do research on the subject. That would be YOUR hero's matthew. If you want to so anti science religious nutjobs in action just talk to a AGW "scientist".
And you continue to be a dumb fuck liar, Mr. Westwall. A bunch of the posters on this board have kept up the call for for ending of all climate research. And those people are your peer group, Billy Bob, Frankie, and the rest.

The worst thing that can be said about the present changing climate, is that we don't know exactly what or where the effects will be. And every year, we see wilder and wider swings in the weather, worldwide, with an overall warming.

When the coal companies pay for the watersheds they have poisoned with the spills of fly ash and chemicals that they use, then maybe we can talk about regulations. Until then, as long as we the taxpayers are paying for their incompetance and carelessness, what is needed are more regulations and fines.

And Westwall pulls out his "You say the science is settled, which means you don't want any more research done!" whopper.

The amusing part is how he'll also use "Those scientists are just in it for research grants!", not caring that his one conspiracy theory directly contradicts his other conspiracy theory.

Yes YOU have wanted to end all research into any source for the warming other than CO2. YOU all claim the "science is settled" which is about as unscientific a term as you can make. It ranks right up there with "I don't need evidence, I have faith!"

Poor mammy,

Hoist on your own petard again I see. Yes, the AGW cultists such as yourself have chosen religious dogma over science. To further compound your crime against science, you then try to impose morality on the subject. Morality is the realm of religions. Not science. Learn the damned difference kitty cat.

Well, that was a reassuring step to take the UK back from the brink of a return to midieval power sources and back into the modern world.

I am going to love every minute of Prime Minister Mays in charge.

Not sure how many of you know this, but PM Cameron's key campaign manager for re election, advisor, confidante and Remain campaign manager was Obama's man.

Messina. So for those who were looking at Cameron and scratching their heads going "this is a Conservative"? Messina is all you need to know. This is how Obama was controlling how Britain was being run.

I like to call Jim Messina Grima Wormtongue. Quite apropos.

I think John Ronald Ruel Tolkein would sit up in his grave and spit on you. I guarantee you Tolkein would not be on your side in this argument. You're playing the part of the orcs here.

Pfffft. You don't have a clue what you are talking about.

I assume you have only seen the movies by Jackson and not read the Trilogy or you would understand that Tolkien absolutely detested centralized government and the impositions on the Brits not only during the war by Churchill who at least imposed regulations due to necessity but after the war by Lord Attlee's socialist government. Tolkien was a self described anarchist who detested governments interfering in every aspect of every persons every day life.

Buy the series and carefully study the Scouring of the Shire. It's in Return of the King.

And in Tolkien's own words he rebukes you Crick. AGW believers would be despised and detested by J.R.R. because everything about the AGW Religion is about control of everyday life of the every man.

"Tolkien was a devout Roman Catholic, and in his religious and political views he was mostly a traditionalist moderate, with libertarian, Distributist, and monarchist leanings, in the sense of favouring established conventions and orthodoxies over innovation and modernization, whilst castigating government bureaucracy.

In 1943 he wrote, "My political opinions lean more and more to Anarchy (philosophically understood, meaning abolition of control not whiskered men with bombs)—or to 'unconstitutional' Monarchy."

Climate change department killed off by Theresa May

One of Theresa May’s first acts as Prime Minister was to move responsibility for climate change to a new Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy.

...

A spokesman for DECC [Department for Energy and Climate Change] told The Independent: "Nothing is changing. The commitment [to dealing with climate change] is still there."

The difference is -- combining the Holy Roller "alternatives to the rescue crowd" with the folks that have to keep Britain ventilated and well-lit at night is gonna end the whining and hype about "renewables" and put all that in perspective as to what GW relief that might bring and at what costs. Instead of this blue sky, we're just a year away from powering Disney with all wind and solar bullshit.

Good move.. Reality check for the dreamers. Might have to learn a bit of math, engineering and science. Not all bad. Hope she sponsors a series of Debates as well on the CC outlook for 2050. 'bout damn time for that to happen..

That chapter illustrates Tolkein's contempt for those who abuse the land. It's very clear he'd disapprove of deniers.

No, Tolkein did not detest government. He basically wasn't political at all. He liked to be left alone, but he also recognized the necessity of government. "Tolkein was a conservative hero!" is weirdass PC historical revisionism.

That's a fine evasive rant, but I notice you failed to explain the glaring contradiction of your fundamental conspiracy theories.

If scientists are supposedly getting all their money from research grants, then why are they supposedly calling for an end to all research?

I never said that dumb kitty. I said they wanted to end all research that didn't conform to their preconceived notions. try not lying the next time you make a post on this...m'kaaay...!

Wrong. He watched as the socialistic, collectivist governments abused the land more than any others. That's why he was shifting towards anarchy.

You wouldn't actually expect a warmer wacko to have any depth would you? Of course he only saw the movies....and even if he had taken time to read the books he couldn't have brought himself to see the contempt for centralized government.

And who exactly is left alone by government? Idiot. Government intrudes into every aspect of everyone's life. Anyone who prefers to be left alone, by definition detests government t.

I can show you opinion pieces claiming that "The Scouring of the Shire" is Tolkein warning us of the menace of Jews and non-whites. I won't post the link, as that might qualify as linking to a white supremacist website, but you can find it if you look. The point is there's a long history of fringers reinterpreting Tolkein to mean what they want it to mean.

Intelligent people, however, keep it simple, and go by what Tolkein actually said. He didn't like the industrialization of the countryside. He flat out stated that _Scouring_ was not a political allegory. If you're saying it is, you're saying Tolkein lied.

Australia pulls mothballed Coal Fired Power Plants back on line as green energy fails.

"The South Australian Government been forced to beg fossil fuel operators to bring mothballed plants back online, to contain wild swings in electricity spot price caused by unstable renewable production, prices which last month peaked at $14,000 / MWh – up from more normal prices of $100 / MWh which prevailed before political favouritism towards renewables messed up the market."

WOW.. The green energy lie has taken some massive hits the last few weeks... Exposed and killed dead.. Now the free market is killing its share too...

And you value the literary opinion of such people? Interesting.
