Liberals Scream"Spend More on Infrastructure..."

And assholes like you scream that it is all a boondoggle and we shouldn't invest in our own country. Even bridges that are highly needed or more money to upgrade them to be able to handle a future earth quake = boondoggle! You spent how much on infrastructure in Iraq? SO you have no effin room to whine!

We spend about 2-3% of the federal budget on infrastructure. If we wish to have the best,,,well, we better be ready to pay for it. Of course, you don't want us to be the best! Your plan is Slash, cut and burn!!!

I thought Obamas stimulus plan was suppossed to be a job creating shovel ready infrastructure plan. Guess they needed to plan that a little better.

In the wake of the Amtrak tragedy Democrats have been holding it up as an example of broken infrastructure and say we need to raise more taxes to invest into infrastructure like China does. Well perhaps if China did not have all of our manufacturing jobs we would have a local tax base that could pay for infrastructure and education. Only 14 Dem's bolted on Pacific trade bill that will lose more American jobs. Brilliant...just fucking brilliant.
China does not have all our manufacturing jobs. We are making more stuff than ever before.

Technology obsoleted our manufacturing jobs, not China.

Besides, manufacturing is the trough of the smiley curve of production value addition. Design and distribution are where its at. There simply is no money in making T-shirts and lava lamps.

That's why the US is being tough about protecting intellectual property rights in the negotiations.
False. You can't just make shit up.
Nothing I said is false.

Sorry to make your ass hurt. Sooner or later you guys will learn I can actually back up my claims, unlike the lying crackpots.

I am just waiting for Stat to come along and say there is no need to jump to conclusions until the investigation is over.

Obama has spent about 159 billion dollars on failed renewable energy projects (Solyndra, Abound Solar, Fiskar, etc).

$159 billion? Got a link for that?

That program was actually profitable for the US government:U.S. Expects 5 Billion From Program That Funded Solyndra - Bloomberg Business

The U.S. government expects to earn $5 billion to $6 billion from the renewable-energy loan program that funded flops including Solyndra LLC, supporting President Barack Obama’s decision to back low-carbon technologies.

About a trillion in stimulus bucks to fix our infrastructure crisis and this is what we got?

We need a Congressional investigation to see who actually got the money!

~100 billion more for about a year. And as of today we're spending at the lowest level in over 2 decades. So extremely short lived.. And yes, we do need a investigation into this as most of it didn't go into infrastructure, science, r&d, etc. A little secret,,,Wall street, banks, nation building in Iraq and welfare!

Whenever you hear "cut spending to the bone" from the GOP...just know there are consequences.
What would be the consequences to cutting ........ the care and support of illegal immigrants, building mosques on foreign soil, supplying weapons to drug lords and terrorists, most of the foreign aid given to foreign governments, exploring the far reaches of the universe, stupid projects such as the fence along our southern border, no-bid government contracts, unnecessary military spending, subsidies to rich farmers and big oil, bribes paid to North Korea and Iran, unnecessary government travel, the ridiculous perks and benefits given to members of Congress, lavish White House vacations, studying the sex habits of cockroaches, looking for water on the surface of Mars, and giving tax refunds to dead people?

The Bloomberg article doesn't debunk the fact the US government wasted $528 million on Solyndra ... Or the other 3 major failures.
The department also didn't disclose the companies or specifics of all the loans and investments included in the project.

Cherry picking results and providing data to supposed gains doesn't erase the abject failures and wasted investment.

Oh, the irony. The guy who just singled out Solyndra from a PROFITABLE program...

It is YOU who cherry picked.

...then there's the interstate highway system. 46,876 miles. How you gonna get your food, gas and everything else if the roads are so bad trucks can't deliver?
None of that matters if the cons spend everything on WWIII.

Despite being a private business, Amtrak has received billions in tax dollars. And we have paid taxes every year that was supposed to go towards infrastructure. Where did all the money go and why don't we see results after billions of dollars? Let's not forget the nearly trillion dollar stimulus that was promised to fix this very problem. How did that much money magically disappear, yet we still have the same crappy bridges and tracks?

Liberals often complain about big corporations getting welfare, yet nary a complaint about how much companies, like Amtrak, receive each year. Do they have any responsibility for overseeing the condition of tracks? Does government still inspect the existing infrastructure? They are supposed to do that. We have government agencies for everything and they cost tax payers billions each year. The promise is that these government agencies will keep us safe.

Why wasn't there a report warning of poor conditions of the tracks or the trains?

It's not always a matter of money. It's a matter of at least evaluating things. If the tracks or train weren't safe, then that train should not have been running. We can't sit here now and blame cuts. If this was preventable, then those who made the decision to keep the train running are totally to blame.

They still didn't disclose the loan details of the existing projects in all cases.
Their biggest success story doesn't even offset what they lost on Solyndra ... Nor does it amount to even 8% of what they claim to have gained.

Like I said ... Believe what you want ... Cherry pick results ... And lap up the data (or lack thereof).
It is a good thing that you trust your government and the idea they tell you what you want to hear ... They keep you happy, you keep them happy ... Now that is fair trade.

Yep, if we wish to remain a leader in this world this should be 1#. Currently infrastructure, science, r&d and education make up less then 10% of the federal budget...Science is 1%! The Milliary, healthcare and welfare make up nearly 2/3rds.
