about the time that electronic timers became widely available. I think that the big guys didnt want the rash of leg shootings that were likely to occur from novices thinking that they'd be as fast in a week (safely) as those of us who have practiced fast draw for thousands of hours. After all, that IS what occurred with Western Style fast draw matches. thats why they shifted from live ammo to blanks and (no gunpowder) wax bulleted ammo.

guys "think" that if they can react to the timer's beep, draw from ccw and hit the chest, at 10 ft, reliably, averaging 2.0 seconds, that they are "pretty fast". Yeah, about like running a 20 second 100 yd dash is 'fast" (if all you have is one leg). Truly fast, from under a T shirt, hands at sides start, is sub 1.0 second. But only a few dozen men on the face of the earth have ever bothered to work up that sort of speed. Instead, they all CHEAT and pretend that wearing an unfastened jacket is practical concealment. But in cold, wet, or windy weather, that jacket is FASTENED shut and in hot weather, the jacket is not worn.
