Law not racisim

Well Jose here lies the problem with your reasoning......immigration effects the southern and western states first so the rest of the country is not privy to the damage being done.(and lets face it Cali is to stoned and to liberal to do shit) While the viet war effected everyone and in a way that brought the issue clearly to light instead of some vague distant danger.By the time the whole of America catches on to the danger it'll be to late.Which it probably already is.

True... it affects the Southwest first but there are already millions of american citizens extremely concerned with illegal immigration. More than enough to organise mass street protests throughout the US.

Jose, you're comparing apples to oranges. The people in those pictures were protesting a war in which 30% of American men were DRAFTED TO FIGHT. Many whose number hadn't "come up" yet were frantic. They didn't care about the war. They didn't want to sacrifice their own lives for it. So instead, they took to the streets to protest with friends, family, and other supporters. BIG DIFFERENCE between that and present day Americans who believe our immigration laws should be enforced. THERE IS NO COMPARISON, AMIGO.

Gross exageration, BlueFlamer.

30% of all US males in the 60's would be 30 million individuals!!!!

Less than 1.800.000 were drafted during the entire conflict and only a minority ever saw battle.

I agree with BlueFlamer's assertion "there is no comparison between the war in Vietnam and the issue of illegal immigration" but for entirely different reasons.

The Vietnam war never posed THE SLIGHTEST THREAT TO AMERICA'S SURVIVAL AS A NATION like illegal immigration does according to millions of Americans.

Acording to them a Latino majority in the Southwest will give birth to a secessionist movement that will split America in half and it will also mean the destruction of America's first world standard of living.

Whether or not you agree with them is totally immaterial. The merit of the issue is irrelevant. It doesn't matter whether you believe an America with a hispanic majority will be awfully similar to Mexico or will continue to be the same USA.

The fact is millions of your fellow american citizens FIRMLY believe that a BROWN AMERICA will be a POOR, VIOLENT, DUMB, ILLITERATE AMERICA!!!!They also believe a BROWN AMERICA poses an enormous threat to America's territorial integrity.

So BlueFlamer is absolutely right about those two issues not being comparable but not for the reason the thinks he is!!

No matter what angle you approach both issues from. If you believe what I said above, illegal immigration is at least ten million times more important than Vietnam could ever have been, from the point of view of American nationalism.

The fact that a sane, rational american citizen who subscribe to the above ideas can consider a war fought half world away with MINIMAL, RIDICULOUS CONSEQUENCES TO AMERICA AS A NATION as being more deserving of massive protests than an issue that POSES AN GRAVE EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO THE US is simply beyond my comprehension powers.

So my only question is:

What the hell are Angelhair, Ghook, Terral, HereWeGoAgain and millions upon millions of concerned american citizens waiting for to start organising and participate in massive protests to neutralise what they perceive to be a threat to their nation's survival?

The word illegal means against the law. Simple find these people by any means necessary and have them deported. Unfortunately this is only the tip of the iceberg, drug and human smuggling is a very lucrative means of making millions of dollars. An invasion of Mexico and the apprehension of major drug cartels and the seizures of there assets would help finance the war on drugs and the construction of wall, complete with mine fields. ICE apparently doesn't have the man power to make a significant dent in the apprehension and deportation of these illegals. What America needs are watch groups and troop involvement. Depending on our government to take action is a pipe dream, they no longer represent the wishes of the people who put them in office. Stop electing these career politicians and elect candidates who share your views on these issues.

You really want to invade Mexico and have to be responsible for rebuilding that country like we are in Iraq and Afghanistan? I guarantee if you do that the illegal immigration problem will be 100 times worse, if you think its bad now you haven't seen nothing yet if we invade that country.

So true. That country is beyond hope or salvation. It would cost the USA Trillions to bring it up to snuff. And that is just the infrastructure - to change their mentality would take centuries and beyond.

Exactly, it would be 100 times worse than Iraq or Afghanistan because those countries are so far away, most Americans besides people in the Military or their loved ones have been spared the aftermath. Mexico is right next door so a war there would effect ALL of us.

My draft number was 6 and I never marched against the war. I saw those asshole as fuckin' pot smokin' coward just tryin' to save their scrawny asses. That is the way the Chicago police, who kids went to Vietnam because daddy couldn't buy them a deferment, saw them too!

This entire thread is a waste of time and effort.

Think about it. Even if we did decide to invade Mexico we couldn't do it.

Every conceivable path between Mexico and the USA would be clogged with refugees headed north. Our military couldn't move south if it wanted to.

Give Mexico City 90 days to evacuate then bomb it to the ground. That will be their last warning. Either all illegals and their children leave or suffer a bombing campaign throughout Mexico. This is the price of invading the US.

Everyone in Mexico will come to the US.

I'm moved by the compassion displayed by the participants of this thread.

Absolutely no moral considerations about waging a totally unjustified war of aggression against another country without anything even remotely similar to a CASUS BELLI.

Only practical considerations about the benefits vs. harm such war could bring to the US.

tsk, tsk, tsk...

Owens,

Did you say anything about a war with Mexico being just like fighting crash dummies?

Too bad the only dummy here is you:

Mexican-American War

Key Californio battles

1846
Battle of Dominguez Rancho, October 9. José Antonio Carrillo leads Californio forces in victory against 350 US Marines and sailors near Los Angeles.

Battle of San Pasqual, December 6. US Cavalry General Stephen Kearny's dragoons were defeated by Californio forces led by Andrés Pico north of San Diego.

In the murder of Mexicans upon their own soil, or in robbing them of their country, I can take no part either now or here-after. The guilt of these crimes must rest on others. I will not participate in them.

For myself, I was bitterly opposed to the measure, and to this day regard the war, which resulted, as one of the most unjust ever waged by a stronger against a weaker nation. It was an instance of a republic following the bad example of European monarchies, in not considering justice in their desire to acquire additional territory.

who pays for your little endeavor?

Invade Mexico?

I'm sure you'll be out there risking your life were that to happen, yes? Or are you just another chicken hawk risking other people's lives?

And the war in Vietnam continued for YEARS!!!!!

The mega protests and massive physical confrontations with police officers of the Vietnam War (the ONLY ones that I say would do the trick now) took place in 68, 69.

The last American ground troops (the ones that do the dying) left the country in 72.

Do the math:

72 - 68 = 4

The participants of those monster protests got what they wanted in 3, 4 years while anti immigration whiners have been ranting and raving since Reagan only to see millions upon millions of Mexicans jumping the fence and amnesty after amnesty being approved since then.

As I said before, if you're too lazy and coward to emulate the protesters of the Vietnam War this is your right but DO NOT RAPE THE HISTORY OF THE VIETNAM WAR TO JUSTIFY YOUR INACTION!!

If a group of homeless Americans took over a Mexican consulate and said, "You stole my country now I'm stealing yours!", do you think Mexicans would see the irony?

Stop misquoting Grant. He ultimately saw that the US beat Mexico fair and square plus the US did something it didn't have to when it purchased the land it won in war. He never said a thing about "Let's give it back" did he?

But I guess it was OK for Pancho Vila to MURDER Americans on the US side of the border?

It needs to go in stages:
(1) Get rid of the incentive - JOBS/EMPLOYMENT: EVerify, national ID, HARD and Swift against Employers and Landlords is a good start. First offense $10K fine per illegal plus the cost to deport illegal. 2nd $20K fine per illegal plus cost deport each illegal and 3rd strike is loss of business license!
Just like the FDC went after shock jocks by fining them directly, go after the HR people also. First, $1K fine per offense, Second $5K fine per offense and Lastly lose the ability to work as a HR person or hiring manager.
Get rid of free healthcare, treat them, but detain and deport them after they are made well.
No more anchor babies. US citizenship goes to children of at least one parent being a US citizen period.

Do a similar thing for landlorders.

Take away the incentive and 90% of the illegals will leave voluntarily. The 10% left will be here for criminal purposes. Ordinary police units already fight these guys.

(2) Secure the border and ports.

(3) Provide amnesty to some and set up a guest worker program for certain industries such as argriculture.

Unlike Iraq, Mexicans would surrender at the site of American troops, hell they run in fear from the cartels. We wouldn't need to do damage just hold a line along the border and the military assets to eliminate the cartels and destroy their product and defoliate and sterilize their crops. A war with Mexico would be like fighting crash dummies.[/QUOTE]

HECK, THE MEXICAN MILITARY WILL JOIN US.:clap2:

Want a solution? Here goes one: PUT THE MILITARY ON THE BORDER! Deport as many illegals as possible starting with the criminal element; then deport those who came in AFTER the 1986 amnesty; then come up with a solution (legalization of some sort) for the ones prior to that time - problem solved.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!

The white race doesn't have you to be proud of, loser.

Your biggest achievement in life is polishing your knob while picking your nose.

Too bad you can't buy your porn with food stamps, right, loser?
