I know, Im being shrill. But as it grows increasingly hard to see how, in the face of Republican hysteria over health reform, we can avoid a government shutdown and maybe the even more frightening prospect of a debt default the time for euphemism is past.

Where's the hate in the article? Repubs take the house and think this gives them a mandate to be the wrecking crew. Just like what Gingrich and the boys did to clinton. Both clinton and obama are basically centrists who would never do anything to jeapordize the wealth of the 1%, (the same as you working stiff repubs for some strange reason). The U.S. defaulting on its debt is a disaster. It will cause an immediate worldwide depression.

The fact remains that if ACA is as bad as the crazies in my party say, then why don't we let it run, and when it crashes, we will take the presidency, the Senate, the House with veto majorities, all of the state capitols and legies, and we can amend the Constitution all we want.
But it is not what we claim it to be, although it requires major modification.
