Krugman rips von Mises up one side & down the other

Krugman has a kickass column on red state shade tree economists like we have so many of here. Will start a thread on that later. Krugman is the man. He also has aNobel Prize

Oh, you mean he leads you in chanting "democrats good, Republicans BAD, bah bahh bahhhh?"

Krugman is a fraud.

If Krugman made any sense a liberal would be able to present one of his most substantive arguments.

Krugman boils down to the argument that more government is good, total government is perfect.

Scheiß Maus (dot com) offers no argument because he doesn't grasp anything going on around him - he is a mindless cheerleader rooting for the team. Krugman designs his columns for moronic sheep - which means they are perfectly tailored to the Maus.

Bug Fucker offers no real argument because he is a cut and paste monkey. He thinks copying massive volumes of shit from ThinkProgress is the same as actually understanding the material presented.

30 years ago Krugman was a run of the mill Keynesian. He became the darling of the new left by openly mixing in Bolshevik themes. As time has progressed, the Keynesian elements have been discarded, leaving only the tired failure of Marxism. Ultimately, Krugman advocates that the means of production be centrally planned and managed by the state.

well the challenge is still open, let's see if dot com can present the best or most substantive argument he thinks Krugman makes. If he does not ever dare to try that will prove the you are right about his grasp!

yes, a great excuse to manufacture weapons that would stimulate the economy just as it supposedly did to end the Great liberal Depression!! Interestingly, no one really knows how we were able to transition from the weapons bubble then but not from the housing bubble now.

Actually, Keynesianism is pure Voo Doo. None of it's claims have ever been demonstrated in any way. In fact, the empirical evidence shows them all to be false.

Keynesian economic policies ended the Great Depression. Those who say that it was not the New Deal, but the Second World War that ended the Depression forget that military spending and employment is government spending and employment.

Keynesian economic policies ended the Great Depression.

Ignorant bullshit.

In fact, the opposite is the truth, Keynesian stimulus utterly failed during the depression.

Those who say that it was not the New Deal, but the Second World War that ended the Depression forget that military spending and employment is government spending and employment.

I realize you are a partisan and desperate to create an excuse for the moronic policies of your party, but the factors that altered the US Economy had very little to do with spending of any sort.

Despite the idiocy that is promoted by democrat drones, The economy during WWII was a disaster. Americans faced rationing of nearly everything. Is that the democrats idea of a "booming economy?" 4 pounds of beef per month per family, 2 pounds of pork, 16 gallons of gasoline.

Sounds like the fucking paradise you of the Khmer Rouge democrats offer America today.

AFTER the war. the economy began to recover. The infrastructure of Europe and Asia was in ruins, while America was pristine.

So it was a delayed reaction! FDR had 20% average unemployment for his entire first 2 terms, but the Keynesian effect only started after Hitler conquered France.

Hmmm, okay

Keynesians are the ones who say it was not the New Deal but WWII that ended the Depression. The reality is that neither ended the Great Depression. As Uncensored already noted, the WWII economy was pitiful.

Your low class vulgarity does not intimidate. Who are you trying to impress with it? Do you really think that sort of language makes you sound like a man?

When Franklin Roosevelt was elected in 1932 the unemployment rate was 23.6%. The per capita gross domestic product in 1996 dollars was $4,901. In 1944 the unemployment rate was 1.2%. The per capita gross domestic product in 1996 dollars was $12,380.

Life for most Americans began to improve almost as soon as Roosevelt was inaugurated. They were more likely to have a job. They benefited from an expanding public sector that was paid for by increasingly high taxes on the rich. That is why Roosevelt was reelected three times. It is why his face is on the dime. It is why Republicans have never been able to repeal the reforms of the New Deal.

total brainwashed liberal SOB parrot. FDR was the Great Depression and WW2, the worst period in American History by far!! Do you think average German began to improve the moment Hitler came to power?

Yes. People who visited Germany after Hitler's take over reported, "You could see that things were getting better." The shops and restaurants were full. People had money to spend for a change.

Hitler was evil, but for other reasons. The economic recovery of Germany after the Nazis came to power demonstrates the potential of a command economy that is not waiting for businessmen to start hiring.

see I knew it! Our liberals spied for Stalin but this liberal would have preferred they had spied for Hitler! Its always a tough choice for liberals. So who, in the end, was your favorite: Hitler Stalin Mao Tojo? They were all great liberal commie command economies in their way-right??

Keynesian economic policies ended the Great Depression.

Actually it ended when FDR finally died and the Keynes BS stopped!!

The top tax rate never got below 91 percent during the Eisenhower administration. One third of the work force belonged to labor unions. Those were among the changes wrought by Keynesian economic policies.

In a letter to his brother, President Eisenhower wrote this: "Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

In 1971, after taking the United States off the gold standard,[3] Nixon was quoted as saying "I am now a Keynesian in economics",
We are all Keynesians now - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

Keynesian economic policies reduced the severity of recessions, and caused economic growth to be broadly shared. It was only when the Reagan administration began to repeal Keynesian policies that recessions got longer and deeper, that they were followed by jobless recoveries, and that most or all economic growth went to the richest twenty percent of the country.
