The government of North Korea sent a message of greeting to Assad on Thursday meant to congratulate Assad for the 70th anniversary of the [Baath Arab Socialist] Party’s founding. North Korean state media published the congratulatory note on Friday, following the Trump administration’s decision to conduct airstrikes on a key Assad military base.

I think most would agree that a nuclear Kim with his ICBM's is clear problem for the US going forward.
The most important strategic consequence of Thurs. night’s attack was the message that it sent to Chinese President Xi Jinping, who was seated at dinner with Trump at Mar-a-Lago while the Tomahawks were flying. Trump let the Chinese know that he is capable of taking pre-emptive military action and that he keeps his word. If China does not reel in North Korea, in other words, Trump will follow through on his commitment to go to war there.

Using nukes on Kim kind of sucks for the rest of the innocent people in the 100 mire radius of where he happens to be... Assassination would be so much better in every respect but that's frowned upon... and wiping out entire cities is the conventionally approved course of action

Right across the river is Seoul with 13-20 million South Koreans. You can see NK soldiers on the other side (2003). The South people are very smart and American style westernized. One older guy came to me crying to thank America for what "we" did for them in the 50s. This was at a Grand opening viewing of one of the World Cup stadiums.

You see SK soldier presence in guard towers as you head north toward the border. The bridges over the freeway are on "quick release" to blow up, drop down and block the roads. USA soldiers are not so visible but they are around.

I don't know........if NK acts up and attacks? super messy! They would have to be eliminated in a first strike? Maybe they are over-rated?

If this US 'nuclear option' is carried out by us from SK, it would seem that the natural course of events would be for the integration of NK with that of SK. It wouldn't appear that the TriComs would be overly enthused about a lingering US presence in the Korean peninsula... An assassination / targeted strikes as we did with Bin-laden, Saddam Hussein would require little on our end but would leave NK in the hands of Kim's successor... Still the best course of action IMHO, especially if we are to go down the path of being less interventionist, non-nation building etc.

This is the problem of our time. Iran and NK are tied together, in fact Iran is helping fund them. 1 or 2 days after the NK has an ICBM, Iran will too. That will be the last day that America will be in control of its future, unless they have some technology that we are not aware of that can shoot them down. Americans tend to not want to admit, that the cold war with the USSR was totally different than this. They were not crazy or religious zealots.

This situation has to be handled! We have kicked the can down the road like we did everything else, and now the road is coming to an end, and there is nowhere to kick the can to.

Many people don't like our President. Well, tell you what------------->I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. The decision he makes on these 2 countries; no matter what they are, will not make anyone happy. There is no happiness in war, nor allowing people to get nukes and a delivery system, that say repeatedly they want to kill you. People can criticize all they want, but if they have a solution, please tell all of us and write the President you either love or hate, and give him a heads up. He might actually listen if it is a new approach!

CONCLUSION---------> If Trump and China do not come to an understanding where China neuters them, it all looks bad, and bad quickly. You are dealing with a crazy, who also doing the research for Iran. They are close, very close, and unless you are sleeping at the wheel, you know we can NOT let them have it!

There should be no blow back on any country threatened, that takes "targeted" measures to denude the nuclear ICBM threat, that that country is faced with... ... Obviously diplomatic pressures of any sort are the first step... lets hope the TriComs have sway with Kim..
