The problem with being clever is that Kim is just one really unfortunate instance in which U.S warning systems falsely detect a threat coming from his region of the world until he meets his Maker. In fact, it could just take a couple of really determined Hawks to sound the alarm and go full throttle against him.

It's fine that he is talking to the south, but, if the South Korean leaders take the bait simply to secure artificial peace for the sake of the Games while realizing that the long term threat to their existence is at stake, then I suppose they deserve their fate. America cannot leave their own fate in the hands of another nation, be it South Korea or anyone else.

So talk as much as you want. Unless Kim is going to abandon his nuclear ambitions, I cannot see this meaning much long term. He has threatened America with nukes, this should not be lost on anyone.
