I don't understand why some people have such blind faith, and trust of Government. Government is just a collection of often flawed humans that become power hungry, and elitist. Today's politicians, and bureaucrats have become our De Facto ROYALTY. They are rarely held accountable for their actions.

The constant push to remove our last line of personal defense should make what motivates Government very obvious. Why keep passing more, and more laws that only remove gun rights from the law abiding? Why not go after the criminals that commit crimes with guns over, and over, and over again. Last time I was in the UK, and Germany, I was met by militarized police armed with H&K MP-5 submachine guns. They were in the airport, and on the streets in both countries. I don't see that in the U.S.

Radio Iowa reports 7th and 8th grade students in the North Butler and Clarksville districts will take part in a mandatory hunter safety course starting in the spring. The class will be tought by the Butler County Conservation Board.

High school students have the option of taking a voluntary class, which will not include operable firearms or live ammunition.

North Butler Superintendent Joel Foster said the classes are aimed at teaching the students "how to use weapons responsibly, how to respect them, understand it’s not a video game and those sort of things, that maybe we’ll cut down on our chances of having a severe incident."

He said that while not every student will go hunting, the class will hopefully teach lessons students can keep with them in unexpected situations.
