Justice is Not For Sale Act

Funny, I did a search for "private prison officials prosecuted", in the first 5 pages one case against 2 judges in PA were prosecuted for receiving bribes to send kids to 2 juvenile facilities. So evidently this big problem isn't so big and when discovered they are dealing with it. Care to pontificate further?

PCI Lawsuits

Any idiot can file a civil lawsuit, I see allegations, where are the criminal acts and criminal prosecutions? You'll see just as many or more civil suits against government run institutions, so I still fail to see a valid point here.

Try again.

Why, you have yet to prove anything?

Sure, I did. AND as an extra bennie, I also proved that you are pretty free with other people's money.

Really, it costs more to keep a prisoner in a government run facility, keeping them in private prisons saves everyone's money. Carry on.

No. It doesn't. But any time your ready to try to back up your BS, I will be ready to read it. You don't have that.

Private prisons are like any other enterprise, too easily corrupted.

Why should life sentences be reduced to 10 years?
‘‘(B) a prisoner confined and serving a life
22 sentence shall be eligible for release on parole
23 after serving 10 years."

Add some jail time or at the very least immediate suspension from duties for judges, officials or clerks caught taking any sort of payola.

Ok, for the sake of argument that the cost per prisoner are exactly the same. Private facilities pay local property taxes where State and federal facilities don't. Here's one example:

Supporters of the prison say that since 2005, the direct local economic impact from the NEOCC has exceeded $180 million.

The prison has an annual payroll of $20 million and generates more than $1.9 million in annual property taxes, $1.3 million that benefits Youngstown City Schools.

Federal contract with Youngstown private prison ends on May 31

Why do you hate school kids?

Given liberals "respect" for laws (viz: Ms. Rodham-Clinton/Lewinsky's performance on security), one wonders why America needs any prisons. Or are they just for political prisoners?

A big gift to public employee unions, and generally socialist micromanagement of the prisons. Will never make it out of committee.

what is it like living in opposite world? some of the largest problems we've had in terms of people being sentenced unjustly have been due to privatization.

when you make prisons a profit center, you create a huge potential for abuse.

but please keep ranting about workers getting paid and treated properly.

socialism? lmao... go back to school.

Exactly who has been sentenced unjustly?

So you don't like the idea of a prison helping to fund local schools? You want tax exempt government prisons instead?

Public employee unions? Did you even read it? Like state and private contractors are doing such a great job......

But it is also a story of neglect by those who were supposed to keep Mr. Sweat behind bars; of rules and procedures ignored; and of a culture of complacency among some prison guards, employees and their supervisors, whose laziness and apparent inaction — and, in at least one instance, complicity — made the escape possible.

Yep, I read the dumb assed bill. Congress has a right to set federal parole standards, the don't have the authority to dictate to the States what their parole policies will be or who runs their prisons for that matter.

Keep dreaming delusional one, with all the unconstitutional BS in that bill, I take comfort knowing it will never leave the judiciary committee and stateist like yourself and Sanders will be sorely disappointed.

Well, we are well aware that Republicans vote "NO" on anything that makes it better for the middle class, but idiots that support them will continue to do so even if they are voting against their own interests.....nothing new.
