Alright...I am going to ask becasue I am now confused.

Are we allowed to keep posts we don't like out of our threads?

As far as I know only Moderators can remove posts and the OP of that thread is a Moderator.

I just removed this post...

This would have been much funnier if another mod had come along and actually removed Mad's post...

Just sayin'...

I'd like to see an insult-free folder, personally. Especially during this election cycle.

A girl can dream.
If you eliminated the insulting posts, there wouldn't be much to read.

The thing is? I don't honestly believe the insulters are as stupid as they present. I believe they've become intellectually lazy, and just take the shot. It's easier to react than to think.

But is it fair that a mod uses that power to have their own threads go the way they want, and the rest of us can't?
 Exactly.

Joe presented it as a sort of political coffee shop.

The coffee shop thread(s) have different rules from other threads.

I see that the thread is locked now so it's moot but it didn't seem out of line to set it up with special rules.

On a different note, the thread seemed impractical to me since it was also presented as a place to talk about any political topic and that could get chaotic, but the don't-call-names rule seemed was fine by me.

Unless we ALL have that luxury, it is inappropriate.

Obviously I disagree. The coffee shop has special rules. Other threads can have special rules.

I am pretty sure that both OP's, the coffee shop and the Tavern... nothing is posted in red.(mod action)

Its a request.... and a request only.

Even though it's not in red in the OP of the coffee shop, it is still a rule which is enforced in red when needed.
