Just some opinions

This thread went out of bounds faster than than I could look up all the new words i get to learn by reading your posts. "verissimilitude"? Couldn't even find it in the dictionary.

But i can guess:

It's not him, it's the world's lack of verissimilitude regarding his vision

and i substitute with the only logical choice:

It's not him, it's the world's lack of knowledge regarding his vision

Hey! There it is!

Noun 1. verisimilitude - the appearance of truth; the quality of seeming to be true
semblance, gloss, color, colour - an outward or token appearance or form that is deliberately misleading; "he hoped his claims would have a semblance of authenticity"; "he tried to give his falsehood the gloss of moral sanction"; "the situation soon took on a different color"

Something that has the appearance of being true or real.

It basically means realistic. It's usually used in the context of saying someone's idea isn't realistic. I'm trying to turn it around and blame the world for lacking verisimilitude regarding your ideas. Undertakings of this nature should not be...um .undertaken lightly.

Ah... I see...
:bang3:

Anyhow, even though your'e almost always wrong, your posts are great fun to read. Maybe you should write a book. Just be sure not to put it with fact-books as you surley must know your self, no one reads stuff like that...

Actually the politicaly commentary book business is thriving. For conservatives, at least. I guess people don't like to read left wing lies.

Is Green Eggs and Ham a fact book, in your view?

It is an achievement to get a word like that into a conversation...

I would have gone for something like:
"I changed my haridresser and look at my verisimilitude now , I has never been that low!"

Well... go for it then!

But, seriously, i don't know that book. Is it for real?
I dont like books written with sort of an agenda behind, like "Stupid White Men" which gives no balance what so ever to the facts used. (That book could be read as a comedy however, the writer has a way with words).

Everytime I read something that has only one angle to it I assume that something is left out. Many links from this messageboard has been intresting.

I'm from Sweden and I'll let you handle the jokes from now on.

People coughing on the subway makes me sick. (Now, is that a joke?)

actually. that was funny. your joking rights are restored!

People always talk about sweden as socialism's shining success. What's your take on it? Is sweden in shipping too? do they have an AP moeller?

I think Sweden is moving away from being a socialist country more and more. More and more things are taken over by private enterprises and we already have a system of personal retirement funding. (An idea that would have been laughable 20 years ago).
Also Sweden is extremly sensitive to other economies, like the rest of EU and USA. US actions regarding economy is carefully monitored. We didn't enter the municipal system of the rest of EU either so our currency is always compared to $ and € making thing a bit complicated.

I don't know about shipping really...

You should have gone! Denmark is great in many ways, we usually go there for a day or two in the summer.

Also they have a fairly easy language to learn: Just learn swedish and then talk with your mouth full of porridge! Danish in a second!

They also said it was weird because EVERYONE was tall. They were normal size guys 5'10 - 6, but there they felt tiny.

The secret noone knows is that even in america you can get drunk at lunch.
