"expectations".....hummm, if there is one thing we have one thing confirmed at least the 'experts' are in a haze...they are in a fog haze whatever................I don't trust any of their prognostications as their records' over the last 6- 9 months have been horrid.

on another issue whats scary is, the market jumped, on 117k jobs....the logic being hey we didn't employ everyone who entered the work force last month but, frug it, we'll take this so, its the new normal(?).

Are these those cushy "shovel ready" jobs that Obama is inventing ?

What's unemployement right now since he started fixing the nation ? 9 point something ? Hell, Carter did a better job.

It doesn't take much does it. They were expecting 85,000 and they got 115,000.

Yeah - People sold into that market bounce on the jobs numbers. Just because they beat the expectation of 85K jobs does not mean we are keeping up with population growth or adding enough to get the unemployed back into the work force.

The market is losing again...now only up by 20.
117,000 jobs added is actually still a loss considering the nation needs to add 250,000 a month to keep up with available population.
And considering it was July...that is not a good number, planned layoffs for August are reportedly so far at a 16 month high, so this is quite likely to reverse itself after summer layoffs.
If you want to tip your drinks and celebrate a measly 117,000 go ahead.

As I stated in the other thread. This is good. It's just not good enough. It isn't even enough to keep pace with our population growth.
