Supreme court already ruled in McDonald vs Chicago. It isn't a state's right issue. It is a constitutional issue related to the 2nd amendment. the state does not have jurisdiction to define the 2nd amendment, or deny a citizen the right to self defense.

I believe that ruling can be challenged on Tenth Amendment grounds. That case has nothing to do with the whole and entire concept of natural rights, or it would expressly say so, in the first clause, not merely Imply it, in the second clause.
