Totally unjustifiable and ridiculous ruling.

Judge Rejects DMV Practice on Licenses

ALBANY, N.Y. - The state Department of Motor Vehicles may not deny driver's licenses to immigrants who cannot prove they are in the United State legally, a judge has ruled.

The DMV has mailed letters to about 600,000 people statewide whose Social Security numbers could not be verified. About 252,000 haven't responded and would have been subject to license revocation. The state has 11.5 million licensed drivers.

Tuesday's ruling came in a lawsuit filed on behalf of five immigrants by the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund.

what a load of BS. The state administration has every right to validate whether a license is legally issued or not.

What is WRONG with these people? We know what's happening because of illegal immigration. We know what will happen if it's not controlled. WHY do the politicians and judges continue to not just ignore the problem, but INVITE it?

I think this one will need to go to the SCOTUS, this is inane. There is no "right" to a Driver's License and the State clearly has the power to limit the priveledge to those who are legal residents.

"Plaintiffs have faced and will continue to face serious injuries if these practices continue," state Supreme Court Justice Karen Smith wrote.

Thanks, Karen. What about the serious injuries WE AMERICAN CITIZENS face? Ya know, like 9/11?

It's simple...no one illegally in the US gets a driver's liscense. If they arte caughtdriving without a liscense, they get deported. End of discussion!

Where are the politians with intestinal fortitude?
