You are also confused about the difference between lifestyle and sexual orientation, the later of which is not fluid

But, some gay people have been compelled to live a straight,-because of bigotry that they faced- even going so far as to marry someone of the opposite sex which often ends badly. Happily, that is far less common these days as society has evoloved, even if some individuals have not. Many of those people ame out as gay later in life, but their orientation has not changed.

How is banning conversion therapy the right thing? You may not believe it works and maybe it doesn't, but what ever happened to freedom of choice? If someone wants to go the route of conversion therapy why shouldn't they have that option of it's of their own free will. Who are you or any government official to take that away from them?

Because the role of government is to protect people from harmful practices and products. The government regulates many things that effect the health and safety of people, from medications and standars for medical practice, to consumer product safety. This is no different. The government is empowered to determine what medical proceedures and medications are safe and effective to protect consumers. Therapy is a medical proceedure. Theapists must be trained a licensed and like physicians, are obligated to do no harm . Regulating it is not Fascism

When the government coerces , or allows others to coerce people into being something that they are not, it is fascism. That includes matters of religion , political beliefs and affiliation AND sexual orientation. People who go into conversion therapy are all, on some level coerced.
