Does the bill even matter? Anyone, citizen or non-citizen can go to an emergency room.
Unless Republicans are saying that if a parent brings in a sick child, the child will just have to die. Republicans have no problem with that? Could they say that to a parent? Seems like they could.
SO if anyone can just go to an ER, then there's no need for this moronic legislation -- in any of its possible forms.
If Senor and Senora Illegal bring their little moppet illegally over our border and the child gets sick here, yes, the child can be brought to the hospital's ER and get treatment. If nobody pays, or if the hospital gets flooded with such matters on a daily basis the hospital may end up being unable to survive as an ongoing business entity. So, for that pipe-dream to "work," somebody is gonna HAVE to be made to pay.
Who?
Well, in all probability, it's gonna be the taxpayers.
1. Hospital goes out of business.
2. Hospital gets too flooded with patients to provide much of any service to any one particular patient due to massive patient volume.
3. Taxpayers assume an ever increasing tax burden to cover folks who shouldn't even be here in the first place.
Which of those options is it you think society ought to embrace?
When in anger, fear or doubt, run in circles, scream and shout.
It's already in the bill, "No money for illegal aliens". Besides, illegal aliens tend to avoid going to the doctor unless the illness or injury is life threatening.
The highest paid CEO gets 38 million a year and 120 million over 5 years in bonuses. That's over 300 million dollars. More than a quarter of a billion dollars. How many insurance policies does it take to pay 300 million?
Is that what Republicans are defending? Ha ha ha ha ho ho ho ha ha.
