Everything thing that JFK found aberrant in Cuba still lives in Cuba. THEY have not changed, the US has with Obama's desire for a legacy and his don't give a crap diplomacy.

Kerry cancels trip to Cuba amid haggling on human rights

Secretary of State John F. Kerry has canceled a tentative trip to Cuba two weeks before President Obama visits the communist-ruled nation as diplomats haggle over which Cuban dissidents the president will be allowed to meet.

The back and forth over human rights is another sign of how prickly U.S.-Cuba relations remain despite the restoration of diplomatic ties, and the easing of many travel and trade restrictions, over the last year.

It also highlights a potential problem for Obama's planned overnight visit on March 21, the first by a sitting president in nearly 90 years, to the former Cold War adversary.

Despite the U.S. push toward normalization of relations, the government in Havana has done little to ease its limits on free expression or to improve treatment of human rights activists and political dissidents.

Another interesting thing. The left seemingly hates capitalism. But as soon as Obama opens the door to Cuba a tractor company moves there to do what? Exploit the cheap labor and make huge profits.

And if Cuba is now somehow so great, why the flood of immigrants?

What a punishment for Cuba that Kerry isn't coming because of human rights issues. Are they trying to encourage Cuba to violate human rights, they don't need to.

The world has moved on

Cuba hasn't.

Sadly the world, the USA, has moved past giving a crap about human rights and dictators.

You would think that at least opening relations with Cuba would stem the flood of immigrants but the flood only gets bigger. That ought to tell folks a whole lot about Cuba.

Oh, and remember him being dead 50 years is hands off when trying to blame Obama's failures on Reagan.

Most of the world has gotten over the USAs petty infatuation with blockading Cuba for daring to be communist. A country that has strong economic ties with Communist China and Vietnam maintained an embargo against Cuba for 50 years. It obviously didn't work
