Such a great actor !!

I just saw a movie called the “Thief “ from 1981

Awesome acting

I thought the old man was a nice caring guy ??

He turns into a monster lol

James Cann was typecast.

He will forever be known as Sonny from The Godfather.

He's been in a few good movies, the most recent I remember was "Elf".

I didn't know he could play the piano.......

What about thief and gambler

They were good movies in their day, but James Caan never could measure up to his role in The Godfather.
He has one role.....wiseguy with an attitude.

His best role was in Steven King's "Misery".
His second best was in "Alien Nation" about a cop who's partner is a immigrant alien from another planet.

He was decent in "Honeymoon In Vegas" with Nick Cage.
I thought he was good in "Eraser", but the role wasn't much of a stretch.
He was perfect for "Elf" playing the straightman to Will Ferrell.
He was in "El Dorado" with John Wayne in the 60s, wearing a dumb looking Beaverskin hat and carrying a funny looking short Winchester lever-action rifle for a pistol.

Eraser ....
He was good in that one...
He didn't have a lot of roles that allowed him to explore his craft, but what he did he did well.
He had the look of a guy basically with a good side but was always stepping over the line when it comes to the law.

He wasn't a stage actor that could do classical plays.
He was a tough guy with a recognizable face. That was his niche.
