On the left the talk is about impeachment or resignation but according to the IG at the DOJ the original FISA warrant was at least borderline perjury, no way to get the senate votes and will do nothing to advance the D legislative agenda. In states with recall elections this is suicidal.

On the right we have a labor shortage causing wage push inflation and expanding legal immigration is being blocked too. Trump and Pelosi can cut a deal on merit based immigration for sure and that will slow down Fed hikes, which will cause everybody's interest rates to go down but can such a deal pass in the Senate?

Except for a failed impeachment giving Trump a landslide in 2020 there ain't no magic bullets by which either side can advance their agenda without bipartisan deals.

It is possible that like a TV show that has run it's course and lost many of it's viewers, the Donald Trump show may be losing support among the voters by the time Nov 2020 rolls around. I thought the improved economy would help the GOP more than it did last month, and even though the Dems made themselves look like crap in the Kavanaugh hearings, Trump has made himself look bad since pretty much day 1. He has not drained the swamp and while he has not yet become part of it, if the Mueller investigation makes him look just as bad as everyone else in Washington then he could be defeated for re-election depending on who the Dems run to oppose him. Will his poll numbers tank between now and then? In 2016 a lot of people held their noses and voted for him, but in 2020 a lot of people may hold their noses and vote for the Democrat.

Yeah, the best thing that could happen Trump did. The in need of drug rehab wing of the Ds did very well and that is likely to get him reelected. Makes me wonder if most of them didn't get mostly non-D support in the primaries.
