Enraged at the results of the 2010 election, some leftists are no longer willing to wait quietly through the Gramscian/Fabian process of incremental totalitarianism. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell freely admits he's a socialist. Tim Wise openly boasts of the progressive plan to obliterate America through demographics. Now Ted Rall — a fixture in the mainstream media establishment — noisily calls for an armed socialist revolution in his aptly named The Anti-American Manifesto. Excerpt via Verum Serum:

"We are here because the U.S. is going to end soon. There’s going to be an intense, violent, probably haphazard struggle for control. It’s going to come down to us versus them. The question is: What are you going to do about it?…A war is coming. At stake: our lives, the planet, freedom, living. The government, the corporations, and the extreme right are prepared to coalesce into an Axis of Evil. Are you going to fight back? Will you do whatever it takes, including taking up arms?… The millions of partisans who follow Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and right-wing televangelists happen to be the best-armed people around, and they despise just about everyone who doesn’t think and pray like them. They will see collapse as affirmation of their beliefs that secular liberalism is destructive. They will also see it as an opportunity to create a new, ordered world atop the ashes. They will act to stop teenage sluts from getting abortions, teach n*ggers a lesson, and slaughter those spics, dots, and everyone else who doesn’t fit into their vision of what and who is right… I want to kick people in the ass. To get them thinking. To get you thinking. I want you to understand the situation—your situation. I want you to see that revolt is a good idea, and that it has never been more necessary.

Ted Rall later wrote " Can you guys read? In the excerpt from the Manifesto I explicitly state that the extreme right is better armed. That’s the problem: uneducated fools who think the earth is 6,800 years old are dangerous."

That would be a call to violence, Ted. Those are your foolish words, not mine.

Wise up.

Many Left wingers are the source of violence, from the 60's to present day, just the same except some are much older and richer.

I love it when rightwingnuts make up stuff about what other people think....

As I recall when conservatives of lesser stature made similar calls you were all outraged. Color me surprised you don't care when the left does it.

Rall isn't the only one, I think it started with the leaders talking about kicking ass, strangling, and such. Last week in Newsweek, :cuckoo: :

Rhetorical Parallels Between Lincoln, Obama - Newsweek

Better Angels and Killer Angels
A century and a half after Abraham Lincoln was elected, some truths go marching on. Take heed, Obama.

Obama's Promises

President Barack Obama loves to quote the lyrical closing lines of Abraham Lincoln’s First Inaugural Address, calling on “the better angels of our nature” to overcome partisan hatreds and political divisions. Obama cited those words in his own inaugural proclamation and rested his hand on Lincoln’s Bible when he took the oath of office. He has come back to those angels again and again ever since. A search of Google and the White House Web site turns up half a dozen examples. He used the phrase to eulogize Ted Kennedy, to chide a would-be Quran burner in Florida, and to say goodbye to chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. Obama, it seems, sees better angels just about everywhere. Even as he traveled in India this week he talked about his efforts to live up to the example of Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and, yes, Abraham Lincoln.

But in light of today’s real-world politics, Obama should think a little harder about the context in which Lincoln summoned those better angels on March 4, 1861. Led by South Carolina (now home to Sen. Jim DeMint), seven of 33 states had already seceded from the Union to form the Confederacy at that point. Only days before Lincoln took office, he had to sneak into Washington in the lonely hours before dawn because of an assassination plot. The month after his inauguration, the South fired on the federal garrison at Fort Sumter to begin the Civil War in earnest.

If, in the end, Lincoln did manage to hold the Union together, it was not because of the better angels of human nature, but because he finally found the killer angels among his generals who could, and did, and at enormous cost, crush the secessionists...

They'll be a real intimidating group carrying these around................

If this guy (whoever the fuck he is ) is calling for violence then he is a fucvking asshole and will end up getting people hurt with his stupidity.

Just like the people on the right who called for violence got and will get people hurt.

Gald to see you righties admitting that violence being called for is uncalled for and gets people hurt.

Ted Rall (born August 26, 1963) is an American columnist, syndicated editorial cartoonist, and author. His political cartoons often appear in a multi-panel comic-strip format and frequently blend comic-strip and editorial-cartoon conventions. The cartoons appear in approximately 100 newspapers around the United States. He is President of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.

His July 5, 2004, cartoon[10] mocked Condoleezza Rice, depicting her character being sent to a "racial re-education camp" where she refers to herself as a "house nigga" and George W. Bush's "beard". Rall, a white man, was accused of racism by Project 21, a conservative organization with black membership.[11]

On October 22, 2007, Rall published a cartoon saying "Over time, however, the endless war in Iraq began to play a role in natural selection. Only idiots signed up; only idiots died. Back home, the average I.Q. soared.

Rall has called for Barack Obama to resign as President of the United States, stating: "the gap between the soaring expectations that accompanied Barack Obama’s inauguration and his wretched performance is the broadest such chasm in recent historical memory. This guy makes Bill Clinton look like a paragon of integrity and follow-through."[4]

The left causes most of the violence. Just the past two years proves the point.

I bet you guys were very proud of sending 500 union goons to harrass that 14 year old boy.

I stand on the idea that he is a fucking asshole and needs to retract any violent talk just like the idiots on the right who call for violence need to retract their violent bullshit.

is he running ? he's just "inflame" guy

i have to admit, when the president took over (right after i listened to his inaugural speech) i contemplated the irony of the first black president (from illinois) leading us into a second civil war.
i genuinely wondered if the country would survive the strain of a "radical" president, would violence spill into the streets. then of course the midterms balanced everything out again. no politics are worth violence.

Calling this ted rall clown a liberal icon is stretching it a bit dont you think?

I totally agree hes an asshole.

From what I went and read about him he stands behind crap all the time that is knee jerk stupid.

I had to go wiki his name to find out weho he was.

He is not an Icon and you lied about that one.

You were completely right for calling out his violent speach if that is indeed what he said.
