Well....Jerusalem, actually.
It what can only be considered as counter-intuitive to Israel's public relations.....and tourism....interests, the city management of Jerusalem has pursued the taxation of world famous churches....sort of.
With the result.....
1. "Jerusalem ... to Close Church of the Holy Sepulchre
Against centuries of precedent, Holy City authorities pursue $186 million in church taxes.
2. ....the leaders of Jerusalem’s churches closed the doors of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Sunday in a show of united protest. The dramatic decision comes in response to moves by Jerusalem authorities to begin collecting tens of millions of dollars in taxes from churches, as well as proposed legislation to confiscate church-owned land.
3. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre—considered by many Christians to be the site of Jesus’ crucifixion, tomb and resurrection—is jointly managed by a cadre of Orthodox and Catholic churches.
4. It is one of the most-visited sites in Israel,...
5. ...the municipality’s new policy a “systematic campaign against the churches and the Christian community in the Holy Land,” according to The Jerusalem Post.
6. “These actions breach existing agreements and international obligations which guarantee the rights and the privileges of the churches, in what seems as an attempt to weaken the Christian presence in Jerusalem.”
7. The city property tax, called arnona, targets businesses and offices belonging to the historic churches in Jerusalem. Houses of worship will be exempt from taxation, but all other church properties will be fair game.
8. The Jerusalem Municipality has excellent and respectful connections with every church in the city, and it will continue protecting their freedom of religion,” stated city leaders,...."

9. I would be remiss not to point out that, for the US Constitution, the most quoted source was the Bible. Established in the original writings of our Founding Fathers we find that in Ezra 7:24 we see where they established the tax exempt status of the church:
Ezra 7:24 “Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.”
10. It is questionable whether offices, hotels, business of the clergy would be covered.
