Why would it? The left said after Benghazi that there are always threats and they never took any of them seriously when Chris Stevens was being publicly threatened. We knew for months that Chris Stevens was being targeted and there was even a previous attack on the embassy. Security was removed rather than enhanced. Then the Obama administration sat on their hands and did not attempt to send help as the terrorists spent hours attacking the ambassador and his staff. A few marines fought like hell while waiting for help that never came. Then the administration immediately lied about the reason for the attack.

The investigation into Khashoggi's murder isn't complete. That never stopped the left from making assumptions. The upcoming election means they will use anything they can, even lies, to attack the right.

Face it, the left is looking for any way to go after Trump and they can twist damn near anything.
