I say it is not as Free Speech requires the tolerance of others free speech as well or else one does not have free speech. There are practical limits, but this is one of the foundational principles to the concept of Free Speech.

But a lawyer in some academic mill disagrees.

Law school dean: Disrupting free speech event was free speech

  • The dean of the CUNY School of Law is speaking out in defense of student protesters who heckled a conservative speaker on campus recently, saying the "non-violent, limited protest was a reasonable exercise of free speech."
  • The students disrupted Josh Blackman for roughly eight minutes as he attempted to give a presentation in support of the First Amendment, shouting that "legal objectivity is a myth" and calling him a "white supremacist."

Disrupting free speech is not in itself a violation on the First Amendment, but it clearly is in opposition to the spirit of the First Amendment.

It is done (and, importantly, enabled) by people with authoritarian impulses who are afraid of what is being said, and who are willing to ignore the value of freedom of expression.

If these people (and those who enable them) had more faith in their ability to express their opinions, and if they were truly curious about the world around them (great liberal traits), they would welcome opposing views as an opportunity to grow and progress.

yelling or interrupting someone while they are speaking is rude, nothing more.

Even if it is orchestrated to prevent the otehr person from being able to use their free Speech?

You libtards are laying down legal prcedent that you are likely to regret as your monopoly of our institutions is not eternal and opposing fascists are very likely to use them against your own cause one day.

And that day might be a whole lot closer than you think.

did the person that got interrupted not have the ability to speak louder? He was the one with the mic.

and to be clear; you are showing yourself to be incredibly weak, if you can't handle someone yelling at another person, when you aren't eve there.....

These students saw first, that this is a Federalist Society event; and second, they saw a few of your writings (specifically a National Review article praising Sessions for rescinding DACA and ACA), and instantly assume you’re racist; and third, our event being titled about free speech is reminiscent of events that claim free speech just to invite people like Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter
.

Just another provocateur.

The politicians in that group, didn't really mean what they said. The likely lied as all politicians do.

Federalist Society - Wikipedia

are a bunch of conservative attorneys who now say who can get elected to the Supreme Court instead of the American Bar Association since they seem to be too liberal.

A bunch of A holes.

I think somebody should exercise free speech by going outside of the windows of these students at 5am with a bullhorn and reading from random sources, like Craigslist.
