In a dependant and enslaved country.
Proverbs 28:4
"Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law resist them."

The House has officially decided to sue Obama for the usurpation of legislative powers, all of which are vested in Congress according to Article I of the US Constitution.

Without a doubt, the courts will rule AGAINST Obama, even it takes 6-18 months.

The question however is how Obama will react. Will he scoff at both the Legislative and Judicial Branches and plow along anyway? What happens then?

Quite literally, the Court will be asked to resolve the following question:

Is Obama a dictator?

And herein lies the problem. If he is a dictator, the Court's opinion will not shake him, it will merely be an opinion.

If they rule that he is not a dictator, then we no longer have need of Congress, since apparently the President can rightfully assume any and all legislative powers at any time. Congress would merely function as Caesar's Rubber Stamp at best. Congress becomes worthless.

Wrong, congress will still have the power of the purse, they have the power to shut the whole thing down, if it really comes to it. Let's see how the dear leader implements his grand plans with no money.

This. Wrongpublicans will continue to terrorize the nation with threats of "hitting the debt ceiling" and "plummeting off a fiscal cliff" just as they have since they stole a majority in the House.

President Obama, a dictator? Please. We sure could use one, though, to deal with all these Tea-hadis running around Washington, shutting down the gyvyrnmynt.

I disagree profusely, but arguing about it is largely pointless; any discussion we have here will be partisan bickering and wishful thinking on the part of both sides, as most users of USMB aren't particularly given to critical thinking and neutral, insightful analysis. We can only wait for the Court to issue their opinion, assuming they even want to hear the case.

The question however is how Obama will react.

In accordance with the U.S. Constitution, as always. President Obama has more respect for our nation's highest law than any president before him, fact.

Will he scoff at both the Legislative and Judicial Branches and plow along anyway? What happens then?

Progress.

And herein lies the problem. If he is a dictator, the Court's opinion will not shake him, it will merely be an opinion.

You yourself literally just called it an opinion in that very same sentence, yet President Obama calling it an opinion makes him an evil dictator. Explain your Wrongpublican hypocrisy.

"Waaahh, if the Supreme Court doesn't agree with me, then it's game over, and I QUIT!" What utter nonsense. Sounds like you've got a lot of growing up to do, OP.

And if Obama just passed another EO appropriating himself money, what then?

Is a Constitutional Crisis on the way?

Nope. The only crisis is the one the far right wackobirds are having as they watch whatever influence they had waste away daily.

I can guarantee that the NSA will be another CC

And how exactly can you guarantee that? Mass surveillance isn't new, it's been going on for decades, and no one has ever had a problem with it until Internet libertarians found out about it.

The house will most likely stay in republican hands for the foreseeable future so you might want to get used to the idea. So should your lame duck in chief.

The Courts will send the Lawsuit back to Congress, stating that impeachment of a President is the Responsibility of the Congress when a POTUS gets out of line.

Other than that, specific lawsuits against EO's can go forth to be ruled Constitutional or not. Which should be handled on a case by case basis.

There should be a bunch of lawsuits instead of one. Each one a direct case on a particular issue.

In my humble opinion, the most troublesome crisis America faces today is the intellectual bankruptcy of the nation's politically active electorate, as nearly half of it thinks that the long train of historically unprecedented usurpations perpetrated by this administration against the rule of law are of no more significance than their dog's last bowel movement.

In the scope of the minority, there is always a crisis on the way or currently underway. There is no more an impending crisis as there is at any other time. And no, Benghazi isn't a scandal or a cisis.

Four dead Americans due to negligence on the part of the State Department has to be something. How about calling it a crime and prosecuting someone? Hillary comes to mind!
