Iron Boy: Meet the courageous kid on a mission to save Sydney from the evil Ultron

Real life Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr, has bestowed his blessing on a brave young Sydney superhero with cystic fibrosis who today overcame supervillian Ultron to rescue a kidnapped reporter.

The Hollywood actor tweeted "Go get 'em, Domenic!" to the boy, adding that he "sent a very special boy on a top secret mission today".

Earlier, Domenic, from Sydney's south west, was transformed into "Iron Boy" as part of a special event which was organised by Make-A-Wish Australia in collaboration with NSW Police.

The nine-year-old took to his tremendous new role this morning with heroic strength, telling police "let's get down to business", following a high-level briefing at police headquarters in Parramatta where he was given his first major superhero mission– to save kidnapped Make-A-Wish news reporter Hope Joy from the evil clutches of Ultron.

Today’s specially choreographed adventure kicked off with the surprise appearance of a POLAIR helicopter, which then escorted Domenic and his family to a specially decorated operations room at Parramatta Police Headquarters.

Here the youngster was treated to a staged mission briefing, featuring a video appearance by Commissioner Scipione requesting Domenic’s help in thwarting dastardly supervillain “Ultron” and rescuing kidnapped reporter “Hope Joy”.

The meeting culminated in the dramatic unveiling of Domenic’s new, specially fitted “Iron Boy” suit.

God bless the Make A Wish Foundation. I wish this boy's family the best.

If you mean my sig I honestly can't remember. I know I was looking for a new sig, saw that one, and said, "This is it." :D

If it weren't for the fact that the poor kid is suffering from a terrible disease, I'd say he is too young to be watching those films. . . .

One of my sisters died at 10 from cystic fibrosis. Being a genetic disease my father left before I was born, afraid me or my twin sister would have it. At 31 I'm alive and well, and wish Connie was here to watch Iron Man with me. :(
