Per CIA world book Iraq's per capita GDP is $4,200. In 2003 under Saddam it was $518.
A total increase of over 718% in 10 years or 71% a year.

The 10th fastest GDP rate in the world.

It's all that oil revenue that's supposed to be ours.
It's why Bush invaded the country, right? :eusa_whistle:

That's good for the Iraqis. Too bad it isn't benefiting the US at all. $2 trillion down the drain for reconstruction that was supposed to pay for itself and a new ally for Iran.

    Iraq prosperous? That's impossible! Why?

Because of their Constitution, which states:

Every citizen has the right to health care. The state takes care of public health and provide the means of prevention and treatment by building different types of hospitals and medical institutions.

No nation can be prosperous with socialized medicine...

    ...so I've been told...

Ask the Sunni's or Christian's how great the "new" Iraq is. Better yet, ask the man on the street how much of that "per captia" GDP is making its way down to him.

ps: I suspect a lot of that increase is driven by construction to rebuild the shit we blew up.

You are sour grapes because JFK and LBJ failed in the liberation war you participated in.
