Fars News Agency :: Iranian Navy Rigid about Deployment at US Maritime Borders

"We would establish direct contact with the United States if we would ever go to the Gulf of Mexico," Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Ali Fadavi said earlier in September.

That article says something a little different than the Tehran Times, the Tehran times says they ARE on their way to the Gulf of Mexico;

"Commenting on the proposal for the establishment of a direct military hotline between the U.S. and Iran, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said, “When we go to the Gulf of Mexico, we will establish direct communication with them. In the view of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the illegitimate presence of the U.S. in the Persian Gulf makes no sense.”

Wow, look who's going to park their navy off our coast like we park ours off theirs. They just want to make sure that they can fire a few shots at our homeland. In case of war. I don't know why they're going to the gulf of Mexico...Off Washington Dc would be a better position.

3 kayakers and a tuber could sink their whole navy with pea shooters, not fucking concerned.

This whole mess, including syria, is going to come down on the iranian regime's head - and they are going to get wiped off the map very quickly. This is going to get ugly for iran. If you like iranian pistachios - you'd better get some soon...

The best reason the Iranians have for contacting the US once thier ships reach the gulf would to be to make sure they are availible for rescue operations.

Its not being in the gulf thats hard for them, its getting there. I'm sure if they can cross the atlantic and reach the gulf they would be able to use cuban and venezualan bases for refuel and refit.

One LA or virgina class sub could take out the fleet in 5 mintues anyway.

I don't think they have anything larger than a cruiser they are sending. Drug smugers have a stronger navy presence in the Gulf of Mexico

Iran Surrounded by Western Spy Centers in Neighboring Countries

An Iranian lawmaker said Wednesday that Iran has been surrounded by Western spying centers near its borders in neighboring countries.

Zohre Elahian, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament, said that Israeli Mossad, American CIA and British MI6 have established espionage centers in the western, northern and eastern borders of Iran, the local Mehr news agency reported.

The spying agencies have their centers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan near these countries' borders with Iran, the report quoted Elahian as saying.

The espionage bases are tasked with organizing terrorist actions and intelligence operations against Iran and its citizens, said the lawmaker.

During the Irish Potato Famine, the highest shark concentrations anywhere in the world were to be found along the shipping routes from the Irish ports and those of New York and Boston. During WWII, the highest shark populations were found in the seas around and in the South Pacific.
If Iran chooses to go to the Gulf of Mexico, the shark count will inevitably jump there. Dang! Those US Gulf Coast tourist hot spots just can't catch a break, can they?

They are emboldened because we have a weak spineless potus who is more scared of them then they are of us. FIRE OBAMATURD!!!!

Despite having a submarine capability, in the 1990s Iran's navy is neither the best equipped nor the strongest in the region. Upon the acquisition of the Kilo-class submarines by the Iranian Navy, Saudi Arabia arranged for delivery of three upgraded La Fayette-type frigates (armed with anti-ship and anti- aircraft missiles, torpedo tubes and anti- submarine warfare helicopters) and one new Sandown-class coastal minesweeper. Iran's Navy, one of the region's most capable, can temporarily disrupt maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz using a layered force of KILO Class diesel submarines, ship- and shore-based antiship cruise missiles and naval mines.
Iran Navy

Iran's Navy is not a force that poses too much of a threat, in fact we most likely have as many Naval ships as museums as they do in their entire Navy.

I don't see it as a threat. We will probably end up having to tow them after they break down and drift into US Waters. :D

I'm not advocating another War but when the Iranian Mullahs fall,Hezbollah and Hamas will fall as well. And Syria is also in big trouble. When their funding dries up,it will be all over for the extremist terrorist groups in the region. Then i think we will see a real & lasting peace in the Middle East. The Evil-Doers are now only hanging on by a thread over there.
