He had been suffering from depression and was distraught over a custody battle. A brilliant talent snuffed out.

Saw them live at Blasidell Arena, Honolulu, I think it was 1988, they were from Australia so a trip to Hawaii was a stopover on the way to the states. Sat about 5 rows from the stage, the enduring memory of that night is the outfit the lead singer was wearing, it was a complete jumpsuit with black and white stripes, I'll never forget thinking he looked like a prisoner allowed to sing for an audience.
