So let me get this right... Through Government health care people will pay a fine for not having health care insurance, however the penalty will only be for those families who can afford to pay for it but do not... So who decides who can afford health care coverage? The Government????? :cuckoo:

So the bottom line is health care will be similar to what it is now and cost about the same being that the people who can afford it are paying for those who can't, yet it will be run by the Government instead of by the individual......WTF??????

Few people see the irony of the jail thing. Because in federal prison especially, it's very expensive to house, clothe, feed -- and yes provide comprehensive medical care -- to inmates. On the order of $40,000 annually per inmate.

I wonder who will be the one who bunks with Charlie Manson?
I can just see the hardened convicts circling around a couple of people who didn't pay for healthcare. Can anyone else get a mental image of this?
I guess this would be Obama's new and improved America.

I suppose I'll miss the dog, Rod and the cat but heck won't have to worry about food, heat, running water, how to pay the taxes on the house next year. I can picture gaining a few pounds there but wth.

Knowledge of this provision attempted by the Pelosi Democrats (who were congratulated for their efforts by Obama post-passage) is circulating across the country and even die-hard libs are horrified at the implications of fining and possibly imprisoning Americans who fail to pay their "fee".

And now Obama appears weak and uncertain yet again - and not entirely aware of what is actually going on around him by leaders from within his own party, stating he agrees with a fine, but not fully condoning prison time. (while not fully dismissing it either)

This healthcare bill is quickly becoming a heavy stone sinking the Democrats fast.

    As predicted...

Don't forget free healthcare, including vision, and dental.

This was in their first bill as well. It's certainly nothing at all new, and I doubt anyone is "horrified" by it. By making it part of the tax code, and having the IRS enforce it, jail time IS a possibility, though of course we all know it'll never actually happen to anyone. They'll seize your property and all of your wages first.

    Right?

I agree with what your saying MM, but the fact is that they do have the wording in the bill which prison could be an option, and that is very troublesome for me.

It should be troublesome for everyone.

    But it's not.

    That's the scary part.

I remember these same folks crapping themselves thinking Bush & Cheney were reading their e-mail.... now, jail time and fines for not buying insurance.... eh, no problem.
