Some time ago I wrote that America has become the nation of stupid*, that is particularly true on the right where revisionist history and ideological media rewrites reality. But now Oklahoma will attempt to extend stupid into science class, students who are presumably in class to learn can now create their own science. Why then have books you ask. Imagine students steeped in comic books, sci-fi, Lord of the Rings, Dune, and hormonal distraction, can now write science based on their lack of knowledge of science. Do wonders ever cease in America, it seems they do not. Soon the tiniest third world country will surpass the educational level of America, all they will need is a few science books. Of course they may need to look to Europe for the books.
Is it not weird how the right hates government, but loves using government to write bills that suit their worldview, regardless of that worldview. A republican majority can now challenge Copernicus, Darwin or even Einstein. We can only wonder what they will do next with quantum physics and virology? Witch induced disease may return as a viable study option.

"In biology class, public school students can't generally argue that dinosaurs and people ran around Earth at the same time, at least not without risking a big fat F. But that could soon change for kids in Oklahoma: On Tuesday, the Oklahoma Common Education committee is expected to consider a House bill that would forbid teachers from penalizing students who turn in papers attempting to debunk almost universally accepted scientific theories such as biological evolution and anthropogenic (human-driven) climate change."
