Fifa removes Indonesia as hosts of U20 World Cup

Fifa has stripped Indonesia of hosting rights for the Under-20 World Cup.

Indonesia has lost the tournament. Why? Because Israel is participating and Indonesia kicked up a stink over it. They don't recognize Israel as a country. You want to host an international sporting event, you better not be that bigoted.

So they lost it.
A lot of Indonesians are talking about how Russia has been banned from international competitions. Qualification for European teams came through the U-19 Euro tournament. Russia finished top of their group and were drawn in a group with Denmark, Spain and Austria but were banned because of the invasion of the Ukraine.

I think they should look more to the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan than Israel, but they decided to support Palestine and feel aggrieved that politics is in sport at times, and not other times.
