Yo,
In March 2004 ICE agent Thomas DeRouchey allegedly shot himself in the head WHILE DRIVING down Interstate 10 toward Tucson. DeRouchey was acting chief of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement bureau in Phoenix - and also - acting Chief of Police for the City of Phoenix.
DeRouchey was in route to a news conference at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base to announce a new border control initiative, supposedly fueled by $10 million in funding from the Bush administration.
"...Yet DeRouchey had an ongoing frustration with the agency and his supervisors, said retired ICE agent Alma Goss. DeRouchey called her a couple of days before his death and said he was "tired" of the lack of support the Phoenix agency received. He said he had recently complained to a top ICE official that the agency needed to get its act together, Goss said..."
The investigation into DeRouchey's death was abruptly halted by ICE officials.
Questions remain in suicide of ICE chief
