LOGROLLING IN OUR TIME: Obama Campaign Ad Firms Signed On to Push Health-Care Overhaul. “Two firms that received $343.3 million to handle advertising for Barack Obama’s White House run last year have profited from his top priority as president by taking on his push for health-care overhaul. One is AKPD Message and Media, the Chicago-based firm headed by David Axelrod until he left last Dec. 31 to serve as a senior adviser to the president. Axelrod was Obama’s top campaign strategist and is now helping sell the health-care plan. The other firm is Washington-based GMMB Campaign Group, where partner Jim Margolis was also an Obama strategist. . . . Axelrod was president and sole shareholder of AKPD from 1985 until he sold his interest after Obama’s victory, government records show. The firm owes Axelrod $2 million, which it’s due to pay in installments beginning Dec. 31. Axelrod’s son, Michael, still works there. He didn’t return a phone call. The firm’s Web site continues to feature David Axelrod’s work on the Obama campaign.”

Ben Smith at Politico:
“It’s hard to imagine a situation in which, say, Karl Rove was still getting checks from a firm that was, in turn, employed by the drug lobby not drawing fire from the left, and Axelrod’s arrangement is, a bit belatedly, getting that attention.”

I don't see that it would be different than the admin we have now, really. But this whole blame game is old ... really old ... older than Mount Rainier.

Can't say I disagree, but no longer see an alternative. I avoid the nonsense issues, like Michelle's shoes and such. However, if there is to be any holding back a steamroller, then the issues that were used by the 'other side' need to be used against them. In this case, like they destroy all 'conservatives' when issues regarding 'family values' come into play. "We're all community organizers now!"

So he built the firm and sold his interest and is being payed in installments rather than a lump sum. Nothing radical.

LOL! But his son is holding and no reason to think there isn't an abuse of position. Remember, it's the 'appearance of impropriety....'

His son is holding what?

Axelrod still has to keep the confidence of any clients who passed through there, confidential. His son can't just arbitrarily feed him info because he isn't "of counsel". He resigned. Just like Obama couldn't talk about Rezco because he represented him. Although much was said about that by people that were morons.

LOL! When Democrats are enriched it's fine, again read the title.

Haliburton anyone?

Halliburton is quite another matter. Cheney was in gov't then in Halliburton, then in gov't and then still tied to Halliburton based on some bogus dead office in the Caymans. Then Halliburton takes the pension fund of their employees to pay Cheney his golden parachute of 20M and then Cheney turns around and makes Halliburton KP for the armed forces, along with CB's, and quartermaster general as well as handling the oil contracts and putting out fires because only Halliburton can do that big stuff yanno.........then they get bazillions more in no bid skillion dollar contracts to rebuild and electrocute our troops and provide them with stagnant water and on and on and on......

Axelrod worked for Obama in the private sector and then he resigned, he sold his business. Cheney is a revolving door nightmare.

And any of what you wrote does not compare with Axelrod how? Did Cheney's relative pick up where he left off? :cuckoo:

Insiders taking care of Insiders and all on the people's dime.

Nothing new to this...except now the right wingers suddenly understand why it's bad.

Soemthing they categorically denied was a problem when Bush II's team of insiders did the same damned thing.

sigh!

Will you partisans never get it?

As a matter of fact ole Liz is quite the shill for pops when he is in the "undisclosed location"........now that you mention it........

Again, we're all community organizers now. There is no avoiding that.

You haven't a clue how the military works. The Vice President had nothing to do with hiring Haliburton. Further this is EXACTLY like that in that Cheney no longer worked there and was recieving installments on payments owed and you people had a fit. Now this Axelrod is in the same boat and all you say is, " ohh no big deal".

The word for you is HYPOCRITE.

Our government, as it is today, needs partisans to remain in power. If enough people stopped caring about party lines they wouldn't be able to get away with anything really.

You have obviously never sold or bought a service company.

I have.

A service company sale is usually based on a multiple of oversall NET sales over a certain period of time....and unlike a "poroduct based company", the deal is ALSO usually based on the conisstancy of revenue for a period of time FOLLOWING the sale.

In other words....if sales revenue went down after the sale, so would his installments received.

Speak with an attorney. What I say is the norm for service companies.

When they can't field enough authenic dupes to prove they have supporters, they'll invent them out of thin air

What do you think all this nonsense about polls is all about, really?

The largest political party in the USA is non-aligned independents.

We outnumbr both Rs and Ds, yet the Rs and Ds remain in power.

the game is fixed, boys and girls.

Stop blaming your liberal or conservative neighbors because they are no less victims of this crooked system than you are.

The gun queers are not my enemies even if I do n\mock their obsession umercifully.

The anit-abortion lunatics are not my enemies, either, even though I think they're crazy as bedbugs.

If you want to know who the MASTERS are, follow the money.

Money (and power) is ALL they care about.

None of the "social " issues which matter so much to most Americans means jackshit to those people.

We cannot fix america until AMERICANS finally realize this fundamental truth about our political reality.

Follow the money and THEN you'll know who is calling the shots.

I know exactly how the military works, it works like congress but with ribbons and scrambled eggs in that there 5 sided majiggy building.

You certainly are naive to be retired, aren't ya? or does that mean you fell asleep?

If the current administration were Republican we would:

Be at war in Iran.

Be at war with Pakistan.

Protestors who have lost their jobs would be shot in the streets.

Entire neighborhoods would be empty while the streets would be filled with homeless.

Cindy McCain would be redecorating the White House while high on Oxicotin.

Sarah Palin would be acting president because of McCain's stroke.

Sarah Palin would be in vacation even more than Bush.

Police would be shooting African Americans for DWB.

Bible study would be mandatory in public schools across the US and not just in Texas.

Forests would be open to strip mining.

There is so much more. The funny thing is that the current Republican Party would look at this list and say, "What's the problem? Looks good to me!"

Protestors who have lost their jobs would be shot in the streets. Nope, just getting beat up, called 'evil mongers' by Senate Leader, called unAmerican by Speaker of the House. Yeah, the good times are folling

Entire neighborhoods would be empty while the streets would be filled with homeless. Yep, that's Detroit and several other cities.

Cindy McCain would be redecorating the White House while high on Oxicotin. Instead we have jet dates, $500 sneakers while talking to 'po folks, and oh yeah, talk of Michelle redecorating WH. Is she 'high'? Dunno.

Sarah Palin would be acting president because of McCain's stroke. Couldn't be worse than the though of what is waiting a heart beat and two away.

Sarah Palin would be in vacation even more than Bush. First she'd have to beat out Obama, who's spent less time at WH so far than any other.

Police would be shooting African Americans for DWB.

Bible study would be mandatory in public schools across the US and not just in Texas.

Forests would be open to strip mining. Instead we're subsidizing Brazil for off shore drilling, refused to American states.

There is so much more. The funny thing is that the current Republican Party would look at this list and say, "What's the problem? Looks good to me!"
Actull what's not funny is how so many of the things on your list are already true and you fail to recognize.
