"If the United States had not helped us, we (USSR) would not have won the WW2 " , Nikita Khrushchev

Hitler brought the war to the US immediately after declaring war. He sent submarine wolf packs to our shores

Stupid on Germany’s part
Here they had the US at war with Japan which would have guaranteed Western Europe remain under their control

Declaring war on the U.S. gave FDR the excuse he needed to invade Europe
They declared war on the USA on Dec 11 41', after we declared war on Japan. And prior to that the USA was already shipping military supplies and other stuff to Britain using our Destroyers as escorts. British Intelligence already had a propaganda campaign going on in the USA for well over a year trying to convince the American public to be for getting into the war. Rockefeller gave them free office space in NYC.

FDR was looking for the chance to get the US involved in the war in Europe.
Hitler gave him the chance

Mmmm, maybe the red army was there because hitler had been invading every country in Europe left and right?
No.

Stalin intended to invade within days of Operation Barbarossa. He had a massive army right on the border. No defensive preparations were constructed. So you can forget that idea.
The Red Army was set up for offensive action ONLY.

The Germans captured hundreds of thousands of Red Army troops and enormous caches of weapons in the early days of the invasion.

This is evidence Stalin intended to invade.

Never heard that
Got a link on that?

Well how about that? Really? You’ve admitted to not knowing something well known by informed people. Lol.

It’s very well outlined by the great Viktor Suvorov.
Icebreaker: Who Started the Second World War? by [Viktor Suvorov, Giles Laurén]

And the opposite was also true .

Without Russia containing the Nazis on the Eastern front , the Allies would not have been able to sweep from France to Berlin .

Provide a specific link, not a book cover

Speculative history at best. Not supported by facts

Nice try though

The Suvorov's thesis about the preemptive strike by Hitler has been strongly criticised by many scholars,[6] [15][16]and the book was called "anti-Soviet"[17] Most historians believe that Stalin was seeking to avoid war in The Suvorov's thesis about the preemptive strike by Hitler has been strongly criticised by many scholars,[6] [15][16]and the book was called "anti-Soviet"[17] Most historians believe that Stalin was seeking to avoid war in 1941, as he believed that his military was not ready to fight the German forces.[1941, as he believed that his military was not ready to fight the German forces.[

It’s well known that the Soviets did the heavy lifting in the war in Europe. No historian disputes that.
Certainly not.
They did the heavy dying for sure, but that is mainly due to having poorly trained, undersupplied troops. Stalin fought WWII by simply throwing bodies at the Nazi army.
The Nazis should have been annihilated by the Russians. Their poor strategies, suicidal attacks in the middle of a Russian winter and bungling leadership weakened the German Army to a point Sweden probably could have beat them.
And yet, Russia still lost 12 million soldiers in battle against them, 8 million died due to illness and disease on top of that.

Let's see... Russia lost 20,000,000 while Germany only lost 500,000. And Germany was poorly organized, terribly planned attacks and trying to fight multiple fronts.

Germany lost over two million in WWII
Most at the hands of the Soviets

German Soldiers feared being sent to the Russian Front

not to nitpick, but it was the Soviets who took Berlin.

Once the WAllies had established aerial supremacy, which the Soviets had nothing to do with, their armies could roam Western Europe at will. The more troops the Germans would have had in France and the low countries, the worse their supply problems would have been.
