The founding fathers exhibited great wisdom in so many areas they really amaze me. The Electoral College was the most fair way to handle Presidential elections and recognize the sovereignty of the individual states. The people of New York or California should never dictate the outcome of a presidential election due simply to the political leaning of their having more residents than the other states. The Electoral College recognizes that California and New York have little in common with Alabama, Mississippi, etc. It is just and right that the candidate winning the most states in an election be granted the right to represent the United States.
