If taxes go up next year....

I'm seriously considering saying "fuck it" and call it a day. I don't need the bullshit anymore and can afford to ride off into the sunset and spend as much time in Canada hunting and fishing as I can. Wasn't planning on closing shop for another 5yrs or so but it is what it is.

Sucks for the 12 guys I employ, but I'm not Santa Clause, look to Washington for him.

of course you are...

like you make over $250,000 a year and are going to be affected by any of this.

:lmao:

I don't personally, no, but my company does

I will hire a couple of people to do some of my job to avoid paying taxes on what would have been income and in the bargain, get more free time.

:)

And if you're a fool you'll believe that most business people won't do just that.

There are literally dozens of industries set up to legally avoid federal penalties and red tape. It's nothing new that the private sector will find loopholes in the federal law, hell the Treasury Secretary testified that he was a tax cheat. The problem is that the federal government will destroy a lot of small businesses and enlarge the gigantic federal bureaucracy with more federal red tape to patch up the red tape that ....you know.

Destroy small businesses that don't have the where-with-all to avoid the tax hikes and creat a gap for the giant corporations and/or government to move in.

I'm trying to save every cent I can for the next few years...
I just know with the Dems in power my retirement accounts are not safe...
They are like fresh meat to a pack of wolves.
Democrats are just waiting for their plan to come together so they can pounce
on them and have them controlled by government...

I hate these friggin people.
Maybe come retirement I head into Canada as well...and live in the wilderness.
This country is fucked right now and no end in sight as to how much the Libs wanna screw it up.
Physical silver and gold that isn't documented, and lots of scrap metal. :D

Scared to death myself my friend. I'm only thankful the greatest and proudest man I've ever known, my granddaddy, didn't live long enough to see it.

No one complain about the tax rate during the Clintion era and the tax rate is only going back to then and not being raised. Tax cuts caused a cut in revenue and a deficit plus the two wars.

If I was to accept this assinine premise without the usual debunking, I would still have to point out to you that in order for it to have a chance to work we would also have to go back to the Clinton era level of government regulations. You left wing loons really don't want that.

Your couple of people you hire will be paying taxes, right? I don't believe business are so foolish to to that either. As tax cuts are allow to expire, businesses will work even harder to make more money to make up for the tax hike. Don't be scared by scare tactics. I don't understand how you stay in business in the first place.

Yeah, that's how it works. Because businesses don't work hard until there's the threat of taxation. :cuckoo:

Stop lying.

First, lots of people complained about the tax rates under Clinton.
Second, the rates are going to be higher than they were under Clinton once the Obamacare taxes kick in in 2014.

If you make less than $250,000 you will be paying less taxes then you ever have.

Bull shit.

No....Small business will downsize and pass tax increases along to their end users.
Your lack of understanding of business operations is not surprising.

Not in the least surprising.

Two questions:

1. How much do you make?
2. How much are you gonna' pay them?

2 answers:

1. Enough to make it worthwhile.
2. Less than what I woulda paid to the IRS.

It ain't personal, and it ain't me either. I never made 6 figures in my life, dunno what Ravi makes but that ain't the point. The point is that when you raise tax rates the rich guys find ways to avoid paying more. One way or another, the rich do not put their money to more productive uses, the economy suffe4rs as a result, and THAT is the point.
There is some truth in what you say, depending on how your income is earned. But if you own a business and want to avoid paying taxes you do actually put some of what you would have earned into the economy by hiring more people, giving the people that work for you a raise, opening an employee cafeteria, buying a company car, etc, instead of squirreling it away in your personal savings account after paying Uncle Sam his share.

You haven't the slightest clue how much it costs to hire someone. Costs in obligations to the government as well as the employee, and his/her pay.

If you make less than $250,000 you will be paying less taxes then you ever have.

Bull shit.

lol ain't it something how delusional his blind supporters are?

Poor America

What is hilarious is that these sheeple don't bother to stop and think. The number of people in this country who make >250k is a pretty small percentage of the population. If we were to believe thier bull shit, then how in the world are the people who make >$250 going to make up for the tax decrease that the vastly larger number of people who make less will supposedly get? Let alone the absurd claim that it would be used to pay down the debt.

How in the world does one shut off enough of one's brain to be a believer in this shit?

So Ravi should tell everyone in Washington, all the Senators, the Representatives, obama, all the news media, all of the economists, and the people of the US that they don't need to worry about the fiscal cliff. It's going to be a boon to the job market.

Hell, tell obama that he's wrong, tell him to tax small businesses so they can hire more people and make more profit and grow the economy.

Jesus how dumb do you have to be to be a Democrat?

If you contribute to your employees benefits you get a tax deduction.

So?

If you hire an employee and your revenue does not rise by a larger margin than the cost of the employee it is not a good decision to hire that employee.

Regardless of the tax situation if it makes sense a person will hire if it doesn't he shouldn't hire.

It ain't rocket science.

But is it only uncertainty that is keeping businesses from hiring like mad.

No the cost benefit equation that I just mentioned is the main factor.

If your business was booming right now and you needed to hire workers so as to meet the demand and the expense of those employees was justified by the increase in revenue then you would hire them.

A business with too few employees is just as bad as one with too many.

irrational and not fact-based...

when bush left office, the stock market was in the cellar...

how are your stocks now?

and, for the record, our economy ALWAYS does better under democrats than under republicans. but i suppose if facts trouble you...
In May of 2008 the Stock Market was more than it is right now.

5/19/08 - May 19, 2008 Close 13028.16

11/30/12- November 30, 2012 close: 13025.04 Up 3.22

The only reason that I am ahead in stocks since Bush is because while all you people were calling each other names and in a panic, I upped My 401k deduction from 7% to 15% in February 2009. I also started buying as much stock as I could afford. The only mistake I made was not going into Silver.

The truth is, people who have stocks or 401k's have pretty much been doing nothing but treading water for the past 4 years.

Years that we can no longer get back. Some plan the Obama had.

That's great! What business are you in? Lots of hungry college students waiting to step in and fill the void you leave. Enjoy Canada, it is a socialist paradise.

I think to become a Canadian you have to be under 50 so looks like you're shit out of luck if you're waiting till retirement age. :)
