I was stranded in an EV at midnight. Progressives don't want you to know about my nightmare

Do the Davos elites care about all the extra carbon belching into the atmosphere to charge their 1000 pound toxic metal batteries? Woohoo "green energy"!!! LOL

I think I was reading some place that they were mad at us for even breathing now.

They were saying that the very fact that we breath is dangerous to their preferred vision of the world.

And something about taking away our coffee now, because global warming?

I read that some place yesterday.

Well that oughtta go over well. I'm a dick without my black coffee. I'd end up wanting to choke the ever living shit one of them little globalist nitwits for that. lol...

Hybrids are very different from EVs. As long as you have gas in the tank, the battery in the hybrid is irrelevant.
Well yes they are different as the difference is one uses gas. So if you run out of gas, you can still drive the car and hope that its enough to get you to the gas station. That is why if I purchased an EV it would have to be a hybrid model. IF your a road warrior , running out of gas is no fun.

The infrastructure (charging stations) to support an all electric vehicle in every state is probably not here yet.

Do you have any alternative solutions to slow down or stop global warming.

EV's can't replace all gas and diesel vehiclesll 1 for 1. That would be impossible.

Other solutions include mass transit such as trains, buses, bicycles, etc. Can you add some others?

Cuba has found some very innovative solutions. Mostly due to need but also due to social responsibility.
I do not thing EVs will have a positive impact either, and I like my internal combustion SUVs with tried and true technology, I can count on and work on if necessary. You will not live long enough to see a mandate to change to it, in Tennessee in your lifetime, or your children's lifetime.

Well we're already seeing states mandating the sale of EVs exclusively with a ten year window. Clearly and observably, the endeavor is with defined intent.

You're right, of course, in that it won't happen across the board in our lifetimes, but this new generation isn't that bright. I think they'll be leashed and contained rather easily.

That's why so-called leadership at the highest level loves them so much.

For instance....

Vice-President Kamala Harris says that she loves Gen Z...

Now. Why does Vice-President Kamala Harris love Gen Z so much?

You see?

They don't stand a chance...

They can never replace your SUV and other gas cars one to one, but they're contributing to bringing about an attitude change.

Much smaller and more fuel efficient vehicles and all the mandated climate control devices. But especially bringing a willingness to ride trains, bikes, buses, or even just walk.

And of course reducing the distance travelled to work an back.

In China EV's could conceivably replace all gas cars one for one.
In Cuba it's likely close to a done deal!
America? No chance.

It's a good thing that the EV didn't strand the poor lass in the wrong place.

And, unfortunately, ''wrong places'' seem to be a rapidly spreading bit of real estate nowadays, particularly over the last few years given that whole Cloward-Piven gag they're running.

Gosh. Out in the real world, they're snatching people out of their cars and attacking them these days, and for no other reason than the fact that the drivers are white folk...

''Are they white? Let’s get 'em! Get they ass!''

More Liberals should endure this experience, so they can explain to the mob as they are being beaten.... that its justifiable due to past racial profiling wrongs, ... and that they can use their credit card if they should need to post bail. It would be very theraputic socially speaking.

I confess to being no fan of Kamala. I also admit to not having worked with young people in the last 9 years and not supervising or training any in the last 11. This points out, my viewpoint on that generation may not be totally accurate. But, I do not see them having the common sense and backbone of generations I did train and supervise, much less grew up with or raised by.

Nope. Not collectively speaking anyway. And they're 34 trillion in the hole. They're coming into this world doomed from the start.

Gosh. If this woman's experience in an EV rental doesn't spell it all out, I don't know what else will. Apparently, the cars don't do a very good job of letting the driver know how far it can actually go. This, of course, put her in a very dangerous position.

Anyway...

''At least 13 states, including Washington, California, New York, and Virginia, plus D.C., mandate (emphasis mine) new car sales to be EVs by 2035. The goal is to convert everyone to electric -- by force...''

''I don’t own a car, so I rented one from Hertz. I was dubious of the EV they gave me, but I had no choice: they rented out the gas-powered car that I reserved and I was out of options.''

''As I drove to the wedding venue, I was nearly glued to the dashboard, watching a dwindling battery percentage. Just when I thought everything would be OK, I encountered hills. EV batteries do not like hills...When I arrived at the venue, my dashboard said the battery would only last 43 more miles. I needed double that to make it back to Seattle. From the vows to the post-ceremony dinner, I was panicked, downloading apps that mapped out the nearest EV power stations, hoping I could make this work...There was a nearby EV plugin location with a dozen open spaces -- for Teslas. I wasn’t driving a Tesla. Without a standard EV plug, if you don’t have an adapter, you’re out of luck. The closest location compatible with my car was a diner in the middle of nowhere, 30 miles away.''

I nervously headed out, watching the battery react to every hill, and every press of the gas pedal. The car misled me about how far I’d get. After 30 minutes, I had 9.5 miles to the charger and a battery that could handle 17 more miles.

''Pro-tip: when driving an EV, do not make any mistakes -- like missing a poorly lit off-ramp to your plug-in station on a highway where the next opportunity to get off and head back is two miles away (and two miles back), when your battery has only about one mile left to give. I was forced to pull over, cruising to a stop in the middle of nowhere. The battery had died as I was pulling off the freeway. Moments later, the lights and heat went out. It was pitch black and about 30 degrees...After two hours of mostly yelling at Hertz customer service and cursing the lack of EV infrastructure in the state, I got an Uber after two hours of waiting. A driver named Hussein took pity on me and agreed to pick me up. He couldn’t arrive soon enough. My cell phone battery hit 13%, and, as with my EV, I had nowhere to plug it in...When the Uber arrived, I abandoned the EV. It was now Hertz’s problem. I got home, $108.91 later (plus a generous tip). This is your future in the Democrats’ EV world.''

I wouldn't want to see anyone subjected to those circumstances.

I only posted that for the purpose of clearly illustrating what's going on in the real world these days more and more.

One really needs to have a reliable means of transport. One does not want to be left stranded on the streets of America in the middle of the night any more. Heck, even in the day time, sadly. But leaving people stranded seems to be a common signature of the infrastructure. It's very dangerous these days.

That recording was just an example of why. They were literally pulling people out of their cars and attacking them for no other reason than the fact that they didn't like the color of ther skin.

Of course, that's not even considering being stranded in the natural elements.

That would be my biggest fear, i.e. being stranded as a senior woman alone in the middle of nowhere or worse in the middle of one of our city 'war zones' where gangs and drug dealers pretty much run things as they wish and the police have minimal effect. I get paranoid if my gasoline powered Subaru gets below halfway on the fuel indicator.

Of course, but thats almost what it takes for them to accept reality.

Yeah. As with anything in life, that's basically what it's going to have to come down to. That's just how it works in the real world.

Yeah, it's getting bad out there on the streets of America. Reliable personal transportation is a necessity. A means of survival in some scenarios, whether it be from the natural elements or being stranded in the wrong part of town.

But there must be a choice in the matter.

"Mandate''

Stories like this only serve as confirmation.

Our (or any capitalist) gov is responsible for simply creating a level playing field. Anything more than that has traditionally had economic consequences anyone can see, but them

I'm just sticking with Shell's good old 93 octane.
I'm with you there Natty, hold the pancake syrup, thx...

I'm a proponent of letting the consumer decide the market.

I don't want the government calling the plays. Government leveling of the playing field sounds too much like its recently popularized equity campaign to me.
