Mr. Obama just said on his "Main Street" tour that the reason things have been slowed up in congress is that the "fillibuster" is being used more and more lately.

Will someone please tell me exactly when the last time the fillibuster was used SINCE he has been in office?

And seeing as the minority does not have enough members to fillibuster.....is he an idiot or was he simply saying to the people "you are just too stupid to know the truth so I can say whatever the hell I want"?

Actually they can. You can always try to filibuster. The big thing is to have enough votes to end debate.

On paper the Democrats do. The problem is that not all the Democrats will line up and vote to end debate. They know that voting to end a filibuster will be characterized as voting for the bill.

Since the GOP has decided to threaten to filibuster everything, that means to do anything you have to make all 60 senators in the "D" column happy. Good luck with that.

Because Harry Reid is too weak to hold together that filibuster proof majority. Right now the GOP needs to pray for Harry. He's the best tool in their arsenal. A stronger majority leader would be able to push through a large portion of the DNC agenda.

I know one thing for sure...he said the reason congress has been slow in passing regulations to prevent another financial meltdown si becuase the opposition is using the fillibuster more than ever before. he also went into the need for 60 votes and the fillibuster prevents congress from getting them.
