Well I think you might have it backwards! Seems to me that more conservative republicans have been outed for being in compromisingly gay positions than liberals.
Now for the second half of your misstatement. It is the conservative ones who want more power -- power to step on our rights and to shove their ideas of what constitutes an ideal society down our throats. In their ideal society no workers would have collective bargaining rights. Abortions would be highly illegal. Pot would remain highly illegal because smoking it is indicative of a counterculture mentallity. In their ideal society public schools would inculcate our kids with their brand of religion and morality. The Patriot act would be broadened giving the government forever increasing "rights" to spy on the public (for public safety), regardless of its constitutionality. Censorship would run rampant (they don't like ideas that compete with theirs, and they hate sexual openess because it is seen as degrading their ideas of morality. Any higher level discussions and concepts that they don't understand or agree with would be discouraged by making fun of them and labeling them as the rantings of "intellectuals" -- and we all know how threatening any intellectual concepts are to red state right wing conservatives.
You see, conservatives are exactly that -- they conserve the past, ie. old ways of thinking, believing, behaving.
Sorry this is so long -- but misinformation and misstatements about conservatives/liberals inflame me because those are the tactics conservatives always use to devalue anything they disagree with.

No, the post was quite stupid, actually. To begin with, every prediction is an assumption based not on fact or patterns of past behavior, but emotions driven by political bias of the poster. Indeed, it seems like a case, in many instances, of total projection, such as the assumption that under conservatives intelligent discourse would be reduced down making fun of the opponent. That's a liberal tactic and it comes from the ultimate liberal, Saul Alinski.

The conservatives are not the past. the conservatives are new and the future. taxes are the past. in fact, they go back to biblical times. Liberals want them. conservatives say it's time for a new, fresh approach, as fresh today as it was when our founding fathers did away with the idea of a restrictive government, something liberals have crept back in slowly, trying to turn this country backward so we are more like the dictatorships that the founders fled. Censorship is alive and well under liberals. If you disagree with them, you don;t get a voice. this is true in almost every news venue but Fox, and even then....!

As far as illegal drugs, yes, probably remain illegal. As far as 'sexual openess", i assume this means turning pre-teens into sluts for runway exhibitions and the kind of behavior that led to AIDS which has killed millions. An open society of the future can debate these things and come to a democratic solution. in fact, it usually has. the problem for liberals is that they just lose all the time on these extremes because even enough of their own don't want to go there.

The more i re-read the post, the stupider it becomes. But worse than that, it's dishonest. But that's to be expected from the political wing of the past - the liberals.
