I never do these sort of things.

I'm from the east coast originally. Grew up around Philly, NJ and NYC, then lived in New England/Boston for some years before moving to California and the Bay Area.

I spent almost 20 years working in the entertainment industry as a lighting designer, director, programmer and trouble shooter. I have been lucky enough to travel around the world and have some crazy adventures, while being exposed to many different cultures and ideas.

I am not so lucky these days thanks to the global recession. Like many others I am struggling to get by and at the mercy of a very incompetent state and federal government who seems to be more interested in how they look on camera then our collective problems.

I came to these forums mostly as part of my efforts to expose ongoing government corruption and economic stimulus fraud in the federal emergency unemployment compensation program (look for my posts in the Politics/Economy Forums). The media does not report on anything serious anymore nor do they spend much if any time doing any investigating on the behalf of the pubic. It seems to all be about money, hype and ratings nowadays. If we want justice we have to fight for it ourselves it seems...

I hoped to find the real people of this country who are hidden here and elsewhere, behind all the media NOISE that drowns out what is really going on in all of our lives. I'm sick of what the government, the media and the rest of the corporate engine have been doing to the rest of us for far too long.

(I think) The world we live in is far too complex to be defined in the narrow and manipulative terms that are crammed down our throats day in and day out: "this side or that side", republican, democrat, tea party, conservative, liberal, green etc...it all seems mostly "designed" to pit us against each other.

So there it is.
