I usually see remarks about how the DOW has gone up. How it has hit record highs and this or that going back into Obama's 2nd term.
It is my understanding though companies can be "kicked off" the DOW as they are replaced by larger companies.
Is there a measurement of say how the 1990 DOW is doing now, or the y2k DOW? and so on?
The truth is going to lie in the middle. Of course companies come and go. Its just another way to look at if the DOW has gone up or just picked up value from previously non DOW companies.
