Get good at a trade and you can become your own boss, perhaps own your own company. And there is always a need for people to build, fix, or repair things.

If you’re a Ph.D. and you’re at home on a Saturday night in July and your air conditioner quits, the smartest person around is somebody who can fix that air conditioner. Buildings to house machines, hospitals, and any other structure would not be built without the trades. It’s a career choice, not just a job.”

excellent , too bad they didn't emphasize the trades when i was a kid . Course , i lucked out but the trades would help out a lot of kids .
