I've decided to share my vast wisdom and knowledge with the plebs out there who don't seem to have a clue as to how to become successful beyond their wildest dreams. It seems we live in a day and age where being a victim and letting the nanny state take care of you is seen as sexy and cool. Directly because of the enormous success of free market capitalism, we have generations of absolute morons who never had to do without and expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter, just because they were born.

This thread is not for you, if you have decided to give up and subscribe to the victimhood mentality of the Socialist left. There is really no hope for you. Never will you realize true success in life. You are destined to be a loser because you have a loser's mentality and there's not a thing in the world I can ever say to you that will change that fact of life. Now, if you are open minded and willing to learn, I can indeed share some insight.

So, where do we start? Well, let's first start with introspection. You need to have a serious conversation with yourself about you. What do you want to do in life? What makes you happy? What level of success would you like to achieve? If you're making a living doing something you love, you'll never work a day in your life. Some people are satisfied with less than others, we're all different in terms of what we consider a success.

Once you've answered some of these questions, write them down. I know that sounds silly but it's important. You want to document what your goals are and then you can begin to contemplate how to achieve those goals. Even if you never go back and read what you've written, it helps to instil in your mind what you have to do and that is crucial to your success.

Next, let's focus on organization of your time. This starts from the moment you wake up. First, you need to wake up relatively early. Successful people are usually out of bed before 7:00 AM. The very first thing you are going to do is take a shower. This is important from a hygiene aspect but it's also an important mental reset where you prepare your mind for the day ahead. As you are showering, think about the five key things you want to accomplish today.

I say five things but this could vary from day to day, you may have 6 or 7 but I wouldn't recommend more than 7 because it is important for you to complete the list. So, while you're in the shower, you're going to come up with your list of five things... then you're going to get dressed.

You need to dress nicely. Dressing well is not only a reflection on you to others it actually helps you establish confidence and self esteem. Take the time to groom yourself well and dress nicely. Once you're done, go find your notebook and document your list of five things.

Eat a good healthy breakfast. It's called the most important meal of the day for a reason. The nutrition of a good breakfast helps stimulate your brain and makes the tasks facing you easier to achieve.

Next, you're going to hit the ground running on your list. Take each item one at a time and complete the actions needed to accomplish your objectives. If you encounter a problem which prevents you from completing a task, you're going to put that item on your list for tomorrow. Go to the next item. Since you started the day with a good breakfast, you'll be surprised how often you completely run past lunch time without even realizing it. That's okay, don't worry about it, just stay focused on your list.

You have to make a legitimate good faith effort at completing a realistic list. This is no good if you're not going to approach it as such. Avoid listing things that you know you can't accomplish. I'm not going to learn to fly an airplane today so I wouldn't put that on my list of things to do. I might be able to find out how much flying lessons cost or where I need to go. So be realistic and put things on the list that you can expect to accomplish. Also, you have to put forth an honest effort. Don't half-ass try and then give up. Push yourself to do everything you can to achieve your objectives. If you can't then you can't but don't let it be because you didn't bust your ass trying.

These are just a few of many steps it takes to become successful. However, they are important in establishing the structure and organization you need in your life to achieve goals and make things happen for you. Here are a few more things you need to take into consideration on your road to success.

Spending money. Whenever you spend money, you are exchanging work you've done for something you find of greater value. Pay attention to this and don't blow your money. Keep your receipts for everything. On major purchases, spend some time shopping around. Don't be lured by "sales" because, there is always a sale. If you don't need it, don't buy it. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. If you can't pay cash, don't buy it.

Education. Depending on what you expect to do, this might be very important. Are you educationally prepared to accomplish your goals? You may need to go back to school but you may also be able to self-educate through resources available for free at the local library and in some cases, the local community college. Another option is an apprenticeship. While it may seem counterproductive in the short term, it could be priceless experience in the long haul.

Attitude. More than anything else, you have to possess a winning attitude. You're never going to achieve success by telling yourself that you can't. You must find a way to overcome those thoughts at all times. Don't ever tell yourself that and don't allow others to tell you that. You can literally achieve anything you set your mind to.

Listen. Surround yourself with people who are successful and listen to what they have to say. Try to learn something new each day. Remain focused on your goals but try to incorporate what you learn from others who are successful. You'll be surprised at how well this works.

At the end of the day, review your list. How well did you do? Are there things you didn't get done? Put them on your list for the next day. You're going to keep putting it on your list until you get it done. Each day, you're going to approach your list as the most important thing in life because this is the key to your success. You can take time for your family, friends and yourself, but the list is vital to your success.

I guarantee, if you develop these routine habits in your daily life, you WILL be successful. If you're not, you didn't follow the instructions. This sounds so easy but it's surprisingly hard to do for most people because they aren't conditioned.

Your diatribe reads kinda like the book rich dad poor dad. I did none of what you write and have had several businesses that were very successful.

I don't think I said anywhere that this is the ONLY way to be successful or that it's a proprietary system. Congratulations on your success but if you see no value in anything I said, then you are very fortunate to have become successful.

My post is intended for people who haven't become successful and wonder what's wrong. I'm attempting to share my insight and wisdom on the subject and provide useful information. If you'd like to contribute your own suggestions, please feel free to do so but don't troll my thread with smug arrogance and skepticism.
