I don't know what it's been hijacked by, but my question was how many nonconservative ideals will they embrace?
They are globalists. They are not even close to being conservative.

Those in charge of BOTH parties are GLOBALISTS, isn't that obvious?
They BOTH put the USA onto the FREE TRADE path, the path which, incidently is in large part responsible for the economic meltdown we're having today.
Why are they globalists?
Because their corporate masters are now globalists, that's why.
Ah, I give up. I asked the question about conservatives. Not neo-cons, not republicans. CON SER VA TIVES.
It gets more ridiculous by the day. They now embrace secrecy for government, no secrecy for private citizens, interference in people's private lives, government ownership of private companies, preemptive strikes...I'm sure I'm missing a few so please feel free to add.
My party? What is 'my party'?
Many Democrats today are moderate, but more and more are becoming socialists. Bill Clinton, of course, was certainly not moderate when he took office in '93. His leftist policies allowed the Republicans to take control of Congress beginning in '95. When that happened, he was forced to take a moderate position.
You might consider taking an anger management course. You're taking this a little too personally.

I first met Bill Clinton in 1980 and have followed his political career since then. I'm guessing you've gotten your information from second-hand sources that leave many of the facts out. You can believe Bill is a moderate democrat if you want. It makes no difference to me.
You tell me. What is your party?
What leftist policies/agenda did Clinton have? I can't wait to hear this.
And I don't only get angry at right wing nonsense. Sometimes I can't stand independents either because they clearly don't get it too. If they did, they wouldn't be saying things like, "both parties are to blame"
And you lean to the right buddy.
If we don't get angry now, when would be an appropriate time to get mad? Can you reverse the labotomy you got that keeps you calm while the country falls apart and your retirement gets delayed by another 10 years because your dollar is now worth 25 cents? Or the GOP bankrupted the government so it would be easier to do away with social programs like social security?
I'm mad because at this point, you should have woke up, but you didn't. In my opinion, the dems never win and the gop never loses, as far as you and others are concerned. I call bullshit.
Of course the Republicans were hijacked.
While out of power they correctly pointed out many of the problems that the Demcoraps were creating.
THEY were the party demanding fiscal responsibility, and an AMERICA FIRST attitude behind every law and policy.
Then the moment they got into power they did much the same thing the Democraps did, only on an even more outrageous scale.
Right now the Rs are a menace to this society.
The Ds are waiting in the wings to basically continue the same goofy policies that brought us to this unhappy state.
My only hope is that the Dems will take into account the wellbeing of the people as they continue their drive toward globalization.
They could if they
1. Provided FREE EDUCATION to all (so that we CAN compete in this global economy)
2. Figured out a way of providing socialized medicine.
They won't be able to do that, though.
The economic stick the republicans are handing off to them is too shitty for anyone to fund the solutions this nation needs.
That was, I presume, the neo-cons plan all along.
Anyone who looked at what was happening could have fortold them that cranking up spending while cutting taxes was bound to bankrupt the nation.
Anyone who looked at what was happening could have told both parties that FREE TRADE as practiced, was bound to bankrrupt the middle class, too.
One cannot help but think that must have been the plan all along, since it is so obvious that was the inevitable outcome of this deadly mix of policies and laws.
